DEO direct deposit missing from bank account - 2hr wait to speak with agent!

I'm about to lose my mind!!! I was supposed to get my unemployment payment via direct deposit yesterday (my payment status shows PAID in CONNECT) but the money is NOWHERE in my bank account. I called my bank first thing this morning and they basically told me there's no pending deposit and that I need to contact DEO. So I called the DEO number at 7:45am, waited on hold for 2 HOURS only to be given the option to either continue holding or get a callback. I chose the callback option and it's now almost 5pm with NO CALL BACK from them! This is $875 I desperately need for rent due tomorrow. Has anyone else had their deposit just vanish between DEO and their bank? What am I supposed to do if DEO never calls me back? I can't afford to miss rent again!

omg same thing happened to me last month!! DEO showed paid but nothing in my account for like 3 days. I freaked out but then it just showed up randomly. Maybe give it another day?

I really can't wait days though!! My landlord already gave me an extension from last month and I promised the money would be there tomorrow. Did you end up having to call DEO or did it just magically appear?

I notice you didnt mention when the deposit was supposed to hit your account. Sometimes the CONNECT system says PAID but it takes 2-3 business days to actually show up in your bank. Something to do with ACH processing times. Also, did you recently change your direct deposit info? Because that can delay things by up to a week sometimes.

It was supposed to be deposited yesterday - that's what the DEO rep told me last time I certified. And no, I've been using the same bank account for my entire claim. This is the first time it hasn't shown up when it was supposed to.

I don't think there's a spam folder for phone calls? But I've been staring at my phone all day and definitely didn't miss a call from them.

I had this exact issue back in January. DEO showed payment was issued but nothing in my bank account for days. Turned out there was a system glitch affecting direct deposits. The money eventually showed up after 4 business days without me having to do anything. If you need to speak with DEO urgently, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com). It's a service that gets you through to a DEO agent without the horrible wait times. I was skeptical at first but their system actually works - they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj This was the only way I could get definitive answers about my missing payment situation. The DEO agent was able to see exactly where my payment was in their system and when it would hit my account.

Thank you! I've never heard of Claimyr before but I'm desperate at this point. I'll check out that link. Did the DEO agent tell you why there was a glitch? I'm worried they might have sent it to the wrong account or something.

The DEO is USELESS!!! I had a similar issue and waited on hold for 3+ hours only to be disconnected. Their system is designed to make us give up. When I finally got through, they claimed they "sent the payment" but couldn't tell me where it went. Had to file a missing payment form and wait ANOTHER 3 weeks for investigation. Good luck getting anyone competent on the phone!

Oh no, that's exactly what I'm afraid of! I can't wait 3 weeks for them to investigate - I need that money now! Did they eventually find your missing payment?

Yeah they finally fixed it but the whole time they acted like I was trying to scam them or something. Make sure you document EVERYTHING - screenshots of your CONNECT account showing PAID status, bank statements showing no deposits, etc. They tried blaming my bank at first.

This is a common issue that's been happening more frequently in 2025. Here's what you need to know: 1. When CONNECT shows "PAID" status, it means the payment has been processed on DEO's side, but hasn't necessarily been transmitted to your bank yet. 2. DEO batches payments and sends them to the bank processing center, which typically takes 1-2 business days. 3. If it's been more than 3 business days, you should file a Missing Payment Form in your CONNECT account under "Forms and Appeals" section. 4. While waiting, check if your payment method accidentally switched to the Way2Go debit card (this happens sometimes due to system glitches). 5. If you need to speak to a representative urgently, call exactly at 7:29am - one minute before they officially open. The queue starts forming then but most people don't know this trick. Also, if you've had any adjudication or fact-finding interviews recently, payments can be temporarily held even if CONNECT shows "PAID" status while their system updates.

Thank you for all this detailed info! I didn't know about the Missing Payment Form - I'll look for that right now. I've checked and my payment method is definitely still set to direct deposit, not the Way2Go card. I did have a fact-finding interview last week about my work search activities, but they told me everything was approved... could that still be causing the delay?

Yes, even approved fact-finding can cause payment delays. The system has to process the adjudicator's decision, which sometimes creates a 2-3 day hold before releasing funds. Check your "Determination, Pending Issues and Decision Summary" page in CONNECT. If there's any item still showing as "pending" (even if verbally approved), that could be your issue. If everything shows "resolved," then it's likely just a processing delay.

Have you checked to see if they accidentally sent it to the Way2Go card instead of direct deposit? This happened to me and I was freaking out until I realized they switched my payment method without telling me! You can call the Way2Go customer service at 1-833-888-2780 to check if they issued a card for you with a balance on it. Worth trying while you wait for DEO to call back!

I honestly didn't think of that! I'll call that number right now to check. I've never had a Way2Go card though - I've always used direct deposit since I first applied. Can they just randomly switch your payment method without notifying you?

Yes! That's exactly what happened to me. I had used direct deposit for months, then suddenly one payment went to a Way2Go card I never requested. The DEO rep later told me it happens when they do system updates and sometimes payment preferences get reset to default (which is the card). Definitely worth checking!

did u try logging into CONNECT and checking ur payment history? sometimes it says more details there

Lucas Turner

•

Yes, I checked payment history and it shows "Direct Deposit" as the payment method with yesterday's date and "Paid" status. That's why I'm so confused about where the money actually went!

Update us if you get this resolved! I'm currently waiting on my payment too (though mine still says processing) and now I'm worried I'll have the same problem.

I'll definitely update! I tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned above and I actually got through to DEO in about 15 minutes! The agent said there was a batch processing error affecting multiple claimants. They're reissuing the payments but it will take 2-3 business days. I explained my rent situation and they're sending me an email confirmation I can show my landlord. Not ideal but at least I know what happened now!
