CONNECT kicked me out while entering work searches - second week link disappeared

I'm having a serious problem with claiming weeks and I'm worried I'll lose benefits. I was entering my 5 work searches for my first claim week when the CONNECT system randomly logged me out. Had to go through the whole verification code process again. When I got back in, I managed to finish submitting the first week's work searches, but now the link to enter my second week's work searches has completely disappeared! Does anyone know if there's a way to submit work searches for the second week without having that link? I'm panicking because I know if I don't submit all required work searches, they'll deny my payment. Has this happened to anyone else? Help please!

This happened to me last month! The system is so glitchy. Try this: go to your home screen in CONNECT and look for

Thank you so much! I'll try that right now. I was freaking out because I've got bills due next week and can't afford to miss a payment.

THE EXACT SAME THING just happened to my boyfriend!!! He was in the system entering everything and it just BOOTED HIM. When he got back in the link was GONE!!! He called DEO for THREE DAYS with no answer. This system is a JOKE. The website always crashes during high traffic hours... try doing it late at night or super early in the morning if you can.

If the method mentioned above doesn't work, call DEO directly and explain what happened. The rep can manually add your work searches on their end. However, getting through to someone can be challenging. I recently discovered a service called Claimyr that helped me get through to a DEO agent in under 45 minutes after struggling for days on my own. You can check it out at claimyr.com and see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/UzW_hbUy-ss?si=zORd51jeq1GX5Ldj. It saved me so much frustration when I was dealing with a similar work search reporting issue.

Thanks for this tip! I tried the other method but it only shows the current week, not the missing one. I've been calling DEO all morning with no luck - just busy signals or disconnects. I might have to try this service if I can't get through soon. Did they actually help fix your issue when you finally reached them?

Yes, they did! Once I got through to a real person, they were able to add my missing work searches directly in the system. Just make sure you have all your work search information ready (employer names, contact info, dates you applied, etc.) so they can enter everything right away. The agent I spoke with said this happens pretty often with the system glitching during work search entry.

That's really helpful, thank you! I'll keep all my work search details handy. This is my first time dealing with unemployment and the whole process has been so stressful.

Good idea, I'll try clearing my cache. I was using Chrome, so maybe I'll download Firefox instead. Thanks!

I work at CareerSource and see this issue frequently. The problem is that CONNECT has a timeout feature that doesn't properly save your progress. If you're taking too long to enter work searches, it logs you out without warning. Here's what you need to know: You have exactly 7 days after your claim week ends to report work searches. After that, the link disappears naturally (which might be what happened if you waited). If you're within that 7-day window, call DEO. If you're past it, you need to submit a Request for Reconsideration form explaining the technical difficulties. Good luck!

This happened to me too but I waited too long and missed the 7 days. Do you have a link to that Request for Reconsideration form? I can't find it on the website.

The form is available in your CONNECT account under

Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'm definitely still within the 7-day window - this just happened yesterday. I'll try calling again, and if that fails, I'll look for that reconsideration option. I appreciate your help!

wait i'm confused, are you talking about the weeks that just ended? because i thought we have until saturday to claim the previous two weeks?

You're confusing claiming weeks with reporting work searches. You claim weeks every two weeks within your claiming window (usually 14 days). When you claim, you have to report your work searches for each of those weeks. What happened to OP is that they started claiming both weeks, but after getting kicked out, the system only saved the first week's claim and work searches. The second week's entry point disappeared.

UPDATE: I finally got through to DEO by phone! For anyone else who experiences this issue, here's what worked: I used Claimyr (thanks for the recommendation) and spoke with a really helpful agent named Marcus. He confirmed that this is a known glitch in CONNECT that happens when there's a timeout during work search entry. He was able to manually enter my work searches for the second week and reset my claim status. My claim is now processing, and he said I should see payment in 2-3 business days. What a relief! Thank you all for your help and suggestions.

That's great news! Glad you got it sorted out. It's frustrating how many glitches there are in the system, but at least the agents can usually fix them when you finally reach someone.
