FL DCF MyACCESS: Frustrated with scheduling benefits interview - How to reach a real person?
I'm so frustrated with trying to schedule my benefits interview! I called the number they gave me, but when they finally called back, they were already closed and couldn't help me. Now I'm worried I'll have to pay again just to get someone on the phone. Has anyone else had this problem? How did you manage to actually talk to a real person and schedule your interview?

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/cTkYMeGyiis

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait?

I tried Claimyr too, and it actually worked for me as well. While it's unfortunate that such a service needs to exist, it was a lifesaver for me during a particularly stressful time.

Here's what worked for me: 1. Call exactly at 8:01 AM when they open 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and redial immediately 3. Keep doing this until you get through to the menu 4. Once in the menu, choose the option for "file a new claim" even if that's not what you need 5. This usually gets you to a real person faster 6. When you get a person, explain your actual situation It took me about 30 minutes of redialing, but I finally got through. Good luck!

I heard they're implementing a new callback system soon. Anyone know when that's supposed to start?

Guys, I think I figured it out. You gotta do the hokey pokey while dialing, spin around three times, and sacrifice a goat to the EDD gods. Works every time 60% of the time 😎

Instructions unclear. Did the hokey pokey, now my phone is stuck in the ceiling fan. Send help.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through. Also, make sure you have all your info ready so you can get straight to the point when you finally talk to someone.

Pro tip: if you have a friend or family member who speaks another language, try calling the non-English line. They usually have shorter wait times and most agents speak English too.

Interesting tip! I never thought about that as a strategy, but it makes sense if the wait times are indeed shorter.

Claimyr seems to be an emerging solution for those who are willing to pay for convenience. It has received mixed reviews with some users praising its efficiency, while others are put off by the cost. For those who are really struggling to get through, it might be worth considering, especially if you value time over money at this moment. However, always research and read reviews before using paid services to ensure reliability. Additionally, while Claimyr may provide a faster method, it highlights a larger systemic issue within the benefits system that requires addressing to prevent such situations from arising in the first place.

Has anyone tried faxing their documents? I heard that sometimes works better than calling.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find my local rep?

Just google "[your city] state representative" and you should find their contact info. Send them an email explaining your situation.

Yes, local representatives can sometimes help expedite matters, especially if many constituents are facing similar issues. They have more influence and direct contacts within government agencies.

Ugh, I feel your pain! The system is so broken. I had to call like 50 times before I finally got through. It's ridiculous that we have to jump through so many hoops just to get basic help.
