Disability claim processing interrupted mid-call - How to reconnect with EDD quickly?

I was in the middle of processing my disability claim when the call got disconnected. Now I'm trying to get back in touch with them to finish setting up my claim and possibly schedule an interview. Has anyone else had this happen? Any advice on how to get through to them quickly? I really need to speak with them and get this sorted out.

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. The disability office is notoriously hard to get ahold of. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works for me.

Yeah, I've tried that a few times now. No luck so far šŸ˜ž It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call 5 minutes before they open. Sometimes the lines open early and you can get in before the rush.

Oh that's smart! I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the tip! šŸ‘

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to make a phone call...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they garuantee you'll get through?

Sure! You choose the department you need to reach, pay, and then they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. No guarantee, but it worked for me first try.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the disability office for YEARS: ā€¢ Always have your claim number and all relevant info ready ā€¢ Be polite but persistent ā€¢ Keep a log of all your calls (date, time, who you spoke to) ā€¢ If possible, try to get a direct extension or email for a specific agent ā€¢ Use their online portal for anything you can do there ā€¢ If you're really stuck, contact your local representative's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. The system is a nightmare but you'll get through it eventually.

I feel your pain, OP. I've been trying to get my claim sorted for 3 months now. It's like they WANT us to give up. Stay strong! šŸ’Ŗ

3 months?! Oh man, I hope I don't end up in the same boat. This is so stressful.

PROTIP: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling one of their auxiliary offices and ask to be transferred. Sometimes works like a charm šŸ˜‰

Am I the only one who thinks its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get basic help? The whole system needs an overhaul smh

Preach! šŸ™Œ It's 2023, why can't they get with the times?

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary a bit depending on location.

I'm in California. From what I've heard, it's pretty bad here compared to some other states.

Oof, yeah CA is tough. Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They sometimes have connections that can help speed things up.

Not to be that guy, but have you tried just showing up in person at their office? Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done with these bureaucrats.
