SDI payments suddenly stopped on 8/6 - How to find out why and get them restarted?
Hey everyone, I'm freaking out here. My disability payments suddenly stopped on August 6th and I have no idea why. I've been trying to call the SDI office to find out what's going on, but I can't get through to anyone. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on how to get answers or get my payments started again? I'm really worried about how I'm going to pay my bills.

Ugh, I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. The SDI system is such a mess rn. Have you checked your online account for any updates or messages? Sometimes they post important info there before sending out letters.

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they needed some additional medical info from my doctor. Have you received any letters in the mail recently? They might have requested something and stopped payments when they didn't get a response.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at SDI. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Have you tried contacting your local state representative's office? Sometimes they can help push things through or get answers from SDI faster than we can on our own.

This happened to me once. Turns out my claim had expired and I needed to file a new one. Might be worth checking if that's the case for you too.

You should be able to see your claim details in your online account. Look for the 'benefit year end date'. If that's passed, you'll need to file a new claim.

Send a message through the online portal asking for clarification 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try the Claimyr service mentioned above 5. Contact your local state representative's office for help 6. Check if your claim has expired and you need to file a new one 7. If all else fails, consider filing an appeal Don't give up!
