Need to change phone number for claim - EDD system won't let me update

Hey everyone, I'm trying to open a claim but I'm having trouble. I need to change the phone number associated with my account. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to update my contact info?

I found a way to solve updating phone number for claim, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs_Gmf9W9-4

I had the same issue! It's so frustrating when you cant even update your basic info. The system is seriously broken šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Tell me about it. I've been trying to update my address for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to succeed.

Have you tried calling them directly? Sometimes that works better than trying to do it online.

Yeah, I tried calling but was on hold for hours. Gave up eventually. This whole process is a joke šŸ¤”

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken we have to pay just to get help šŸ˜”

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to save time, ya know?

Can you give more details about how it works? Is it legit?

Sure thing! You just go to the website, choose the department you need to reach, pay the fee, and they start calling. When they get a real person, your phone rings. It's pretty straightforward.

OP, have you tried logging out and then creating a new account with the updated phone number? That might be a workaround.

This is why I always keep all my info up to date. You never know when you'll need to file a claim. Better safe than sorry!

I've been dealing with this exact issue for MONTHS. Here's what I've learned: ā€¢ The online system is basically useless for updating contact info once you've started a claim ā€¢ Calling is hit or miss - be prepared to wait for hours ā€¢ If you do get through, make sure you have all your info ready (SSN, old phone number, new phone number, claim ID if you have it) ā€¢ Sometimes they'll tell you it's updated but it doesn't actually change in the system ā€¢ Keep calling and be persistent - eventually you'll get someone who can help It's a nightmare, but don't give up. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this detailed response! It's helpful to know what to expect. Did you eventually get your info updated?

Yeah, after about 2 months of trying. It was a real headache, but persistence pays off. Hang in there!

I heard they're updating the entire system next month. Might be worth waiting if you can.

My cousin works for the department. But tbh, take it with a grain of salt. You know how government timelines are šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
