Need to change phone number for claim - EDD system won't let me update

I had the same issue! It's so frustrating when you cant even update your basic info. The system is seriously broken 🤦‍♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

OP, have you tried logging out and then creating a new account with the updated phone number? That might be a workaround.

This is why I always keep all my info up to date. You never know when you'll need to file a claim. Better safe than sorry!

I've been dealing with this exact issue for MONTHS. Here's what I've learned: • The online system is basically useless for updating contact info once you've started a claim • Calling is hit or miss - be prepared to wait for hours • If you do get through, make sure you have all your info ready (SSN, old phone number, new phone number, claim ID if you have it) • Sometimes they'll tell you it's updated but it doesn't actually change in the system • Keep calling and be persistent - eventually you'll get someone who can help It's a nightmare, but don't give up. I heard they're updating the entire system next month. Might be worth waiting if you can.
