How are SDI benefits for non-14-day pay periods computed when working part time?
Sometimes EDD has been using pay periods that are various lengths (e.g., 3, 4, 11). I am working part time and submit daily wages earned. How does EDD compute the benefit for an 11-day pay period? It is apparently NOT the lesser of the EDD daily rate times 11 and the lost wages over the 11 days. It is apparently also not the sum of the lesser of the weekly rate and the lost wages of the first seven days, plus the lesser of the daily rate times four and the lost wages of the last four days. At least, that's not what they paid me.
(Most of my SDI pay periods are 14 days long, and I've figured that out. They compute the benefit by breaking the 14 days into two weeks and computing the lesser of the EDD weekly rate and the lost wages for each week. This is a bit different than computing lost wages for all 14 days and comparing to two times the EDD weekly rate.
