EDD phone interview communication barrier - how to fix last day of work mistake?

Has anyone else had trouble with communication during their EDD phone interview? I think there was a mistake made about my last day of work, but I'm not sure how to fix it. The person interviewing me was hard to understand, and I'm worried I might have given the wrong information. What should I do now?

I found a way to solve EDD communication issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vocvh2X__qY

Ugh, I feel ya. Had the same issue last month. The interviewer had such a thick accent, I could barely make out what they were asking. Ended up guessing half my answers 🤦‍♂️

Same here! It's like they purposely hire ppl who cant speak clearly. So frustrating 😤

Guys, let's not blame the interviewers. They're probably overworked and underpaid. The system is the real problem here.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yep, 100% legit. Used it twice now. Saved me hours of frustration.

$20 seems steep. Why should we have to pay to talk to EDD? 🙄

I get it, but for me, it was worth every penny. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down what you remember from the interview, including any misunderstandings. 2. Call EDD back ASAP. Use the self-service phone system to request a callback if you can't get through. 3. When you talk to someone, explain the situation calmly. Ask them to review the notes from your previous interview. 4. If they can't help, ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist or a supervisor. 5. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can often help push things through. 6. Consider filing an appeal if the mistake affects your claim. Remember, stay persistent but polite. Good luck!

Have you tried using the online portal to submit a request for correction? Sometimes its easier than trying to get through on the phone.

I didn't know that was an option! I'll check it out, thanks!

Be careful with the online stuff tho. I've heard horror stories of people's claims getting messed up even more 😬
