EDD nightmare: Paid for service, no connection, now they want more money? Help!

I'm so frustrated with the EDD. I paid for a service to help me get through to them, but I never actually got connected. Now they want me to pay again? This is ridiculous. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do?

I found a way to solve EDD phone connection issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OceghPRqPI

Ugh, that sucks! The EDD system is such a mess. I've been trying to get through for weeks. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

Tell me about it! I've spent hours on hold only to get disconnected. It's like they're playing games with us 😤

Same here. I've tried calling at different times, using different phones... nothing works. It's so frustrating!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/0UZGuPWGErg

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

Yeah, I was skeptical at first too. But I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

How long did you have to wait for the call back?

It took about 2 hours for me, but it was way better than being stuck on hold myself.

Have you tried contacting them through their online portal? Sometimes that works better than calling.

This is why we need to overhaul the entire unemployment system. It's clearly not designed to handle high volume situations like this pandemic. We should be writing to our representatives about this!

100% agree. The system is broken and needs a complete redesign. 💯

I feel your pain, OP. I've been in the same boat. Here's what I did to finally get through: 1. Call right when they open at 8am 2. If that doesn't work, try calling at 3:55pm (just before they close) 3. Use the comma trick when dialing to auto-input your info 4. Be persistent and keep trying It took me a week of trying, but I finally got through. Don't give up!

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try these. What's the comma trick you mentioned?

Oh, the comma trick is where you add commas and pauses in your phone's dialer to automatically input your info. Like this: 18003005616,1,,,,,,,,,,,,1,2,1 It saves time and makes sure you don't miss any prompts.
