EDD closed my open claim - can't access funds. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. It was open before, but now it's closed and I can't access my funds. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do to get it reopened and get my money?

Ugh, I've been there. The EDD system is such a mess. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week.

30 minutes? You got lucky! I was on hold for 3 hours yesterday and then they hung up on me 🤬

Check your online account for any new messages or notices. Sometimes they close claims if they need additional info and don't tell you directly.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20 just to make a phone call? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

I know it sounds crazy, but it seriously saved me weeks of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Here's what you need to do: 1. Check your online account for any new messages or notices 2. Look for any mail from EDD - they might have sent something explaining why your claim was closed 3. Try to call them early in the morning, right when they open 4. If you can't get through, consider using a paid service like Claimyr to connect you 5. If all else fails, reach out to your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things through Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but persistence pays off. Good luck!

I had the same issue last month. Turns out they needed proof of identity again. Check if they sent you any requests for additional documents.

Oh, that's a good point. I'll double-check my mail and online account. Thanks!

This happened to me to. I finaly got through to someone after like a billion tries and they said my claim was flagged for fraud review. Aparently its happening to alot of people. They had to manually review my case which took forever but eventualy it got sorted
