EDD Appeal Won: Missing Checks, No Results, Need Help with Payment Options
So I won my appeal with EDD but now I'm having issues with the payment. The checks they sent me went missing and expired. I need to get new checks or maybe even an EDD debit card with the money on it. Also, I never got the results of my appeal. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I finally get through to them on the phone?

Totally agree, it’s frustrating but there are legitimate reasons for some delays, though it doesn’t make it less annoying.

Guys, I think I figured out why EDD is so slow. They're obviously using Internet Explorer on Windows 95. Mystery solved! 🕵️♂️💻

Nah, they upgraded to Windows 98 last year. That's why everything's so messed up now. Growing pains! 😜

Old tech may be part of the problem, but I’m sure there’s more to it. Funny though!

Have you tried going to an EDD office in person? Sometimes that's faster than calling.

I didn't even know that was an option. Do you just walk in or need an appointment?

You can walk in, but appointments are better. Check their website for locations near you.

Just a heads up, sometimes there are long waits at the office, but at least you’re in the queue.

Here's a pro tip: call right when they open. I always get through within 15 minutes that way.

This is a good strategy! Time zones matter too, so plan accordingly.

I had a similar issue last year. It took forever to get through to someone, but when I did, they were actually pretty helpful. Just be patient and persistent!

It took me about 2 weeks of calling everyday. But once I got through, they resolved everything in one call. Hang in there!

Ugh, dealing with EDD is such a nightmare. I've been there, buddy. Here's what you need to do: 1. Call them ASAP and explain the situation 2. Request a new EDD debit card with the full amount 3. Ask about the status of your appeal results 4. Get the name of the person you talk to and a reference number Good luck! 🍀

Great advice! It's crucial to document the name and reference number in case you need to follow up again.

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post updates there before sending anything in the mail.

It sounds like you’re dealing with a lot of stress regarding your EDD benefits. Winning your appeal should have been the hard part, but payment issues are common. Start by calling the EDD customer service. Document everything, including call times and reference numbers. An EDD debit card might be more secure than checks. If calling doesn't work, consider using Claimyr, which can help connect you directly with a representative. It’s a bit costly, but many find the service valuable. Also, feel free to contact your state representative for assistance. They often have ways to expedite issues. Balance these with online portal checks for updates, and consider visiting an EDD office if you're nearby. Remember, patience and persistence are key!

IMPORTANT INFO FOR EVERYONE DEALING WITH EDD: 1. Document everything! Keep a log of all calls, letters, and online communications. 2. Use the online portal whenever possible. It's often faster than mail. 3. Be persistent but polite when calling. The person on the other end is just doing their job. 4. If you're not getting anywhere, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite things. 5. Join Facebook groups or subreddits dedicated to EDD issues. There's strength in numbers! 6. Consider using a callback service if you're really struggling to get through. 7. Know your rights! Read up on the appeals process and benefit eligibility. Remember, you're not alone in this. We're all trying to navigate this mess together. Good luck everyone! 💪

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "under maintenance" when you actually need to use it? 🙄

omg yes! Its like they know exactly when I'm gonna log in and shut it down just to mess with me 😂

Pro tip: try accessing the site using incognito mode. Sometimes it works better for some reason.

Anyone else feel like they need a degree in "EDDology" just to navigate this system? Where's my diploma? 🎓🧐

It’s like trying to crack a code! We should get diplomas for surviving this.

I found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. (https://claimyr.com

Claimyr can be a lifesaver, but it’s always good to weigh the cost against other options like visiting in-person.

Thanks everyone for the advice and commiseration. It helps to know I'm not alone in this. I'll try calling first thing tomorrow and if that doesn't work, I might give that callback service a shot. Wish me luck!
