Can't view my submitted EDD application - need to check for mistakes

Hi everyone, my brother applied for unemployment benefits about 2 weeks ago and now he's freaking out that he might have made errors on his application. He's trying to find a way to review his submitted application through his UI Online account but says he can't figure out how to access it. Is there actually a way to see your completed application after submission? He's worried he might have entered incorrect employment dates which could delay his claim processing. Any help would be appreciated as I'm trying to help him sort this out before he has to deal with potential issues.

Unfortunately, there's no way to view your complete original application after it's been submitted through UI Online. This is one of the most frustrating parts of the EDD system. What he CAN do is log into his UI Online account and check the "History" section which shows some basic information about the claim, but not the full application details. If he's really worried about errors, he has a few options: 1. Wait to see if EDD contacts him about discrepancies (they usually will if something's wrong) 2. Call EDD directly to verify the information (good luck getting through) 3. Submit a correction in writing through the UI Online message center

Thanks for this info. I'll let him know. He's really anxious about this because he can't afford delays. Do you know if corrections through the message center actually get processed, or is it better to just wait and see?

I work as an employment counselor and deal with this frequently. Your brother should check his UI Online inbox regularly - if there were mistakes that need correction, EDD will typically send a message requesting additional information or clarification. If he remembers specific errors and wants to be proactive, he should use the Contact EDD button in his UI Online account to send a message with the corrections. Be sure to include his full name, last 4 of SSN, and specific details about what information needs correction. Also, if he's within the first 30 days and the claim hasn't been processed yet, he can actually cancel the application and submit a new one if he believes there are major errors. That's usually a last resort though.

This is really helpful, thank you! I'll let him know to check his inbox daily. Do you happen to know how long it typically takes EDD to process new applications in 2025? His claim still shows as 'pending' so maybe there's still time to fix mistakes before they finalize it.

You absolutely CANNOT see the application after submitting!!! I made this mistake too and you know what happens? THEY MAKE YOU WAIT 6 WEEKS then schedule an eligibility interview to fix ANY little mistake!! The whole system is designed to delay benefits and make people give up. I'm still fighting with them over a typo on my employment dates from FOUR MONTHS AGO. The EDD is a DISASTER in 2025, even worse than before!!!!

While I understand your frustration, not every application with minor errors results in a 6-week wait and interview. Many claims with small discrepancies are resolved through simple communications. The current processing time for new claims is around 10-14 days if there are no issues requiring further review.

my cousin works for edd she says they only care about big mistakes like wrong employer info or income reporting. small date errors usually dont matter much

I've been through this last month. Couldn't see my application either but needed to fix something. I spent 4 days trying to get through to EDD on the phone with no luck - constant busy signals or disconnects after waiting for hours. Finally I used this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an EDD rep in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km The EDD rep was able to check my application and make the correction I needed. Saved me weeks of anxiety and potential delays. Just sharing what worked for me since getting through to EDD is nearly impossible these days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check it out if the other options don't work. Did the rep actually make changes to your application over the phone or did they still make you go through additional steps?

The rep made some changes directly while on the phone with me, but for others they had to submit internal notes and corrections. It depended on what type of information needed changing. But at least I got confirmation they received the corrections which gave me peace of mind.

I just want to add that your brother should make sure to certify for benefits on time even if he's worried about application errors. Many people make the mistake of not certifying while waiting for issues to be resolved, but you should always certify for any weeks you're eligible, even if the claim is pending or has issues.

has anyone had luck with the contact form on ui online? i submitted THREE messages about a mistake on my application and never got any response lol

ZERO response from the contact form for me too. It's like sending messages into a black hole. I think they only respond if it benefits THEM not us!!

Thanks everyone for all the responses. I've shared all this info with my brother. He's going to start by sending a message through UI Online with the corrections, and if he doesn't hear anything within a week, he might try the phone service someone suggested. He's also checking his inbox daily. I really appreciate all the advice - this community is so helpful!

Good plan. Just remind him to keep certifying for benefits every two weeks regardless of what's happening with his application corrections. That's the most common mistake people make when dealing with application issues.

Just wanted to add my experience from last year - I had the same panic about not being able to see my application after submitting. What helped me was keeping detailed notes of what I entered while filling it out originally. For future reference, I'd recommend anyone applying to take screenshots or write down key info like employment dates, wages, and employer details before hitting submit. It's saved me stress on my renewal applications. Also, minor date discrepancies (like being off by a few days) usually don't cause major delays - EDD typically focuses on bigger issues like missing employers or significantly wrong income amounts.

That's such good advice about taking screenshots! I wish I had thought of that when I was helping my brother with his application. We were so focused on just getting it submitted that we didn't think to document what we entered. Definitely doing that for any future applications. It's reassuring to hear that minor date errors usually aren't a big deal - that should help ease his anxiety a bit while we wait to see what happens.

I went through this exact situation with my sister last month! She was convinced she'd messed up her employment dates and was panicking for days. Here's what we learned: EDD will definitely contact you if there are major discrepancies that affect your eligibility. For minor errors like being off by a week or two on employment dates, they often don't even flag it. What really helped was having her check the "Claim Summary" section in UI Online - while it doesn't show the full application, it does display some key details like benefit year start date and weekly benefit amount, which can give you clues if something went really wrong. Also, if your brother remembers specific mistakes, document them now while they're fresh in his mind so he can reference them if EDD does reach out later. The waiting is the hardest part, but most applications go through without issues even with small errors!

This is really reassuring to hear! My brother has been checking his Claim Summary section but wasn't sure what to look for. I'll tell him to pay attention to those details you mentioned. It sounds like your sister's situation worked out okay in the end? The waiting really is the hardest part - he keeps refreshing his UI Online account hoping for some update. Thanks for sharing your experience, it definitely helps knowing others have gone through the same worry and came out fine!

I work in HR and help employees with unemployment applications frequently. One thing that might give your brother some peace of mind - EDD's system is actually pretty good at catching and flagging major errors that would affect eligibility, like completely wrong employer information or drastically incorrect wages. For minor date discrepancies (like being off by a few days or even weeks), the system often auto-corrects based on wage records they already have from employers. If he's really concerned, I'd suggest he prepare a simple document with the correct information he thinks he might have entered wrong - employer names, exact employment dates, and final wages. That way if EDD does reach out for clarification, he'll have everything ready to respond quickly. In my experience, about 80% of people who worry about application errors never actually hear from EDD about corrections, which usually means the information was acceptable or the system cross-referenced with employer records successfully.
