I'm on day 12 of calling the 1800 edd number with zero success. Starting to think my claim is cursed or something. This system is completely broken.
Day 12 is rough. That's about when I gave up on manual calling and went the Claimyr route.
Just got off a successful call! Finally reached someone after 6 days of trying. Called at 1:45pm (right after their lunch break) and got through on attempt #63 today. Waited 1 hour 52 minutes on hold but the call didn't drop. There is hope!
Final tip: If you do get through to hold, DO NOT hang up even if the wait seems crazy long. I waited 2 hours and 45 minutes once but finally talked to someone. The hold music is annoying but stick with it.
Sacramento or not, we're all dealing with the same broken phone system. The location doesn't matter but the timing and persistence do. Good luck to everyone still trying to get through manually.
Definitely check out Claimyr if the manual approach doesn't work. It's a game changer for getting your life back.
I think I paid around $20. No guarantee but their success rate is way higher than manual calling. Check out claimyr.com if you want to see their demo video.
I saw that demo video at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10 - really shows how their system works. Pretty impressive tech.
Bottom line: those are the right phone numbers (800-300-5616 or 833-978-7753) but calling manually is brutal. Budget several hours or full days, avoid lunch time and Monday mornings, and be prepared for dropped calls. Or just use an auto-dialer service and save yourself the headache.
Update: Finally bit the bullet and paid for the auto-dialer. Got through to my EDD customer service rep in 18 minutes. Kicking myself for not doing this weeks ago.
Reality check: I calculated I spent over 40 hours trying to reach EDD customer service manually. That's a full work week down the drain for a 15-minute conversation.

Success story: Finally reached an agent after 8 days of calling. Key was staying persistent and not giving up after dropped calls. They resolved my payment issue in 15 minutes once connected.

•It was exhausting but worth it. The actual conversation was quick once I got through.

•Stories like this give me hope. I'm on day 3 and getting discouraged.

Last piece of advice: Download a podcast or audiobook before you start calling. The repetitive dialing will drive you insane without some background entertainment.

•Trust me, you'll need something to keep your sanity during the hundreds of redials.

•Or just use an automated service and do something productive while they handle the calling for you!
