PFL payment delay - 4 weeks, no updates. What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I've been on Paid Family Leave for a month now and haven't seen a dime. No payment, no updates, nothing. I haven't gotten any notices asking for more info or anything. Anyone else dealing with this? Any ideas on what I should do next? I'm starting to get worried about bills piling up.

Ugh, that sucks. I've been there before. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes theres a hold up with paperwork or verification that they dont tell you about unless you call.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It saved me hours of hold time.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call. Is it worth it?

For me it was. I was losing way more than $20 by not getting my benefits. Plus, my time is valuable too.

Check your spam folder! I had the same issue and turns out they were trying to contact me for weeks but the emails were going to spam. 🤦♂️

The PFL system is so broken. I swear they make it difficult on purpose to discourage people from claiming their benefits. It's a disgrace. 😡

It's not that bad. Y'all just need to learn how to navigate the system better.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your paperwork. Make sure everything is filled out correctly and completely. 2. Call the PFL office first thing in the morning (use that Claimyr thing if you can't get through). 3. Ask specifically if there are any pending issues with your claim. 4. If they say no, ask for the expected timeframe for payment. 5. Get the name of the person you spoke to and a reference number for the call. 6. If they say there are issues, ask exactly what they need from you and by when. 7. Follow up with an email summarizing your call (if possible) to create a paper trail. 8. If you don't hear back within their stated timeframe, call again. 9. If you still can't resolve it, consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with benefit issues. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them forget about you! Good luck!
