PFL benefits not paid yet - EDD sent notices but no $. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having issues with my Paid Family Leave benefits. I've submitted all the paperwork and received some notices from EDD, but I still haven't gotten any payments. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next? I'm getting worried about bills piling up while I wait.

Ugh, I feel ya. I went through the same thing last year. Have you tried calling EDD? Sometimes they need additional info but don't tell you until you actually get someone on the phone.

I've been trying to call but can never get through. It's so frustrating! đ¤ How long did it take for you to finally reach someone?

It took me like a week of constant calling. I'd start dialing right when they opened and just kept hitting redial. It's a total pain, but persistence pays off eventually.

A week? You got lucky! I've been trying for a month with no luck. The system is completely broken đ¤Ź

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this? Kinda skeptical about paying for something like this...

I get the skepticism, but it honestly saved me so much time and frustration. Worth every penny imho.

How long did you have to wait once they started calling for you?

It took about 2 hours, but I just went about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line. Way better than being stuck on hold myself!

Here's what I've learned from my experience with PFL: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all forms you submit and any correspondence from EDD. 2. If you received notices, make sure you've responded to any requests for additional information. Sometimes they need more docs but don't make it super clear. 3. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes updates appear there before you get a letter. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try reaching out via social media. EDD has a Twitter account that sometimes responds to inquiries. 5. Consider contacting your state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can help with EDD issues. 6. Be patient but persistent. The system is overwhelmed, but keep following up. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. đŞ

I'm in the same boat, OP. Been waiting for 6 weeks now. This whole system is a joke. Good luck to you!

Pro tip: if you can't get thru on the main line, try calling some of the other EDD numbers (like the employer line) and ask to be transferred. Worked for me!

Isn't that kinda unethical tho? Those lines are for other purposes...

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to move faster if you bug them on social media? I tweeted at them every day for a week and suddenly my claim started moving. Coincidence? đ¤

Hey OP, what kind of notices did you receive? Might help to know what they said to give better advice.

They were just acknowledgment notices saying they received my claim. Nothing about needing more info or anything like that.

Hmm, sounds like it might be stuck in processing then. Definitely try to get someone on the phone if you can. Good luck!
