EDD Maternity Leave Payments Delayed - Need Advice for Calling
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my maternity leave payments from EDD. I was approved but haven't received anything yet. Has anyone else dealt with this? What documents should I have ready when I call them? I'm getting worried about bills piling up.

Ugh, I feel you. EDD can be such a pain sometimes. When I had to deal with them, I made sure I had my approval letter, recent pay stubs, and any emails they sent me. Also, write down the dates you applied and when you were supposed to start receiving payments. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely gather all that stuff. Did you have to wait long to get your payments sorted out?

It took about 3 weeks of back-and-forth calls and emails. Stay persistent! Don't let them forget about you 💪

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know? 🤷♂️

Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your docs (approval letter, pay stubs, ID, etc.) 2. Call EDD first thing in the morning, like 7:59 AM 3. If you can't get through, keep calling every 15 mins 4. Be super nice to the rep when you finally reach someone 5. Take notes during the call and get a reference number 6. Follow up with an email summarizing the call Stay strong, mama! You got this! 💪👶

This is why we need better systems in place for maternity leave. It's ridiculous that new moms have to jump through so many hoops just to get the support they deserve. 😤

Pro tip: if u cant get thru on the main line, try calling one of the EDD branch offices. Sometimes they can help or at least transfer u to the right person. I got lucky doing this last month!

I don't have them saved, but if you google "EDD branch office numbers" you should find a list. Good luck!

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with EDD. Worth a shot if you're really stuck!

I'm in the same boat, girl. It's so stressful dealing with this while trying to take care of a newborn. Sending you positive vibes ❤️
