How to report maternity leave wages to EDD? Need tips for upcoming call
Hey everyone, I need to report my wages to EDD for my maternity leave. Has anyone gone through this process recently? I'm not sure what documents I need or how to explain everything correctly. Any tips on how to prepare for the call would be really helpful!

I just went through this last month! Here's what helped me: • Gather all your pay stubs and any records of maternity leave payments • Write down the exact dates and amounts you were paid during leave • Be ready to explain any weird discrepancies (I had a bonus that confused things) • Practice what you're gonna say, like "I'm calling about reporting my maternity leave pay" and "Here are the details of my payments" • After the call, be prepared to send in extra docs if they ask Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you so much! This is exactly what I needed. Did they ask you any tricky questions during the call?

Not really, they were pretty straightforward. Just make sure you have all your dates and amounts ready. They might ask about any other income sources during your leave, so keep that in mind too.

This is great advice! I wish I had this when I reported my wages last year. It was such a headache 😫

ugh, good luck dealing with EDD. I swear they make everything 10x more complicated than it needs to be 🙄

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at EDD! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

I was skeptical at first too, but I tried it and it actually worked. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? Thats kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get it, but for me, it was worth not having to spend all day trying to get through. Time is money, ya know?

make sure you keep DETAILED records of everything. EDD has a habit of "losing" information 🙄

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the unemployment system? It's 2023 and we're still dealing with these archaic processes 🤦♂️

Preach! 🙌 The whole system is a joke. We're in the digital age but EDD is still using carrier pigeons or somethin

For real. My grandma could design a better system, and she still uses a flip phone 😂

Pro tip: if you can, try to call right when they open. I've had better luck getting through that way.
