EDD Maternity Disability Bonding Pay Delay - No Payment After 6 Weeks

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my maternity disability bonding pay. I filed my claim a while ago but haven't received anything yet. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next or who I should contact? I'm getting worried about bills piling up.

Ugh, I feel you. The EDD is such a mess rn. When did you file your claim? It took me like 2 months to get my first payment 🙄

I filed about 6 weeks ago. 2 months?! That's crazy long. Did you have to do anything special to finally get it?

Nah, just waited. But I heard some ppl had luck calling them directly. Might be worth a shot if you're getting antsy

2 months? You're lucky! I've been waiting for 3 months now. This system is so broken 😤

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post updates there before sending anything in the mail. Also, make sure you've completed all the forms they ask for - they're sticklers for paperwork.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds sketchy. Is it legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. Saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

Only about 30 mins! Way better than the 3+ hours I spent trying to call myself

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your paperwork is complete and submitted 2. Log into your EDD account and look for any messages or requests 3. If nothing there, try calling them directly (use the trick in another comment if needed) 4. If still no luck, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite claims Don't give up! The system is slow, but you'll get your money eventually. Hang in there!

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. It might come in handy if you need to escalate the issue.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at the EDD account can get their attention. Worth a shot!

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they had my old address on file and all the mail was going there. Might wanna double check your contact info is up to date.

Oh wow, I hadn't even thought of that. I'll definitely check. Thanks for the tip!

Ive herd that sometimes the claims get stuck in the system if theres any discrepancy between your claim info and your employer's report. Might be worth asking your HR if they submitted everything correctly on there end.
