When to call EDD for disability claim update by 5pm today?
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out when I should call EDD to get an update on my disability claim by 5pm today. Anyone know the best time to reach them? I'm worried about waiting on hold forever and not getting through in time.

I found a way to solve EDD disability claim phone delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FkjaEcNt7go

Ugh, good luck with that. EDD's phone lines are a nightmare. I've spent hours trying to get through. Your best bet is to call right when they open, but even then it's a crapshoot.

I've had better luck calling later in the day, like around 3pm. Less people trying to get through then.

3pm? Interesting, I'll have to try that next time. Thanks for the tip!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

It's legit! You just enter your phone number on their website, pay the fee, and they do all the waiting for you. When an agent picks up, they connect you.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call... π€

I get it, but think about how much time you waste on hold. For me, it was totally worth it to get my issue resolved quickly.

Pro tip: Use the online portal if you can. Sometimes you can get updates there without having to call at all. Saved me a ton of headaches.

I've been dealing with EDD for months now and I swear their system is designed to be as frustrating as possible. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits π€¬

Preach! π I'm convinced they have a dartboard to decide which claims to process each day

Here's what I've learned after way too many calls to EDD: β’ Best times to call are 8:01 AM (right when they open) or 11:55 AM (right before lunch) β’ Have all your info ready - claim number, SSN, etc. β’ Be super nice to the rep, even if you're frustrated β’ If you don't get the answer you need, politely ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist β’ Keep a log of who you talked to and what they said β’ Follow up every call with an online message to create a paper trail Hope this helps someone avoid the headaches I've been through!

have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school but I got a response way faster when I faxed in my documents

Anyone else feel like they're playing phone tag with a ghost? I swear I've left more voicemails for EDD than I have for my own family π»π
