SDI won't process my claim - stuck in limbo. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my state disability claim. I applied for SDI but they won't process my claim. It's like I'm stuck in limbo and can't move forward. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get them to actually look at my application?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The SDI system is a total nightmare rn. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep bugging them until they actually do something.

I've tried calling but can never get through. It's so frustrating! 😤 How long did it take you to finally reach someone?

Honestly, it took me like a week of constant calling. I'd start dialing the second they opened and just kept redialing all day. It's ridiculous we have to do this but sometimes it's the only way 🤷♂️

Pro tip: call right at 8:01 AM. That's when I finally got through after trying for days!

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out there was a problem with my identity verification. Did you complete all the ID verification steps? Sometimes they don't tell you if something's missing.

I thought I did everything right, but maybe I missed something. How can I check if my ID verification is complete?

Log into your SDI account online and look for any pending tasks or messages. If you don't see anything there, you might need to call and ask specifically about ID verification status.

The whole system is broken af. I've been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. It's like they want us to give up and just suffer 🤡

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com/?ref=rdt

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked for me. Got through to an agent in about 2 hours without having to sit on hold myself.

20 bucks tho? That's messed up that we gotta pay to get basic service from a government agency 😒

I hear ya, but for me it was worth it. I was losing way more than $20 every day my claim wasn't processed. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

Here's what I've learned from dealing with SDI claims: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and online submissions. 2. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 3. Use multiple channels. Try phone, email, and even snail mail. 4. Check your online account daily for updates or required actions. 5. If possible, get your doctor's office involved. Sometimes they can help push things through. 6. Consider contacting your local state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 7. Join Facebook groups or other online communities for SDI claimants. They often have good tips and can provide moral support. 8. If all else fails, consider filing a formal complaint or even seeking legal advice. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

Unpopular opinion: maybe there's a valid reason they're not processing your claim? Not trying to be a jerk, but are you sure you qualify?

I'm pretty sure I qualify, but I guess it's possible I misunderstood something. How can I double-check my eligibility?

Check out the SDI eligibility requirements on their website. If you're still unsure, maybe consult with a benefits counselor or an attorney who specializes in disability claims.
