SDI payments stopped unexpectedly despite having approval - what to do?

My disability payments suddenly stopped even though I have approval through next year. I confirmed with the agent that they received my doctor's note, but they didn't mention when payments will start again. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do next?

Ugh, classic bureaucratic nonsense. I've been there, buddy. Have you tried calling them again? Sometimes you gotta be persistent and keep bugging them until they fix it.

Yeah, I've been trying to call but its impossible to get through. I've been on hold for hours 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can catch em before the lines get jammed

Good advice! Also, try different days of the week. Mondays and Fridays tend to be the busiest.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yep, totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take for them to call you back?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I've heard it can vary. Still way better than being stuck on hold yourself!

This happened to me last year. Turns out there was a glitch in their system that flagged my account for review. Keep calling and ask them to check if there's any flag or hold on your account. Good luck!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they post updates or requests for additional info there. Also, send a message through the portal if you haven't already. It creates a paper trail which can be helpful later.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll def check that out. Didn't even think about the paper trail aspect 🤔

Okay, let me break this down for you: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what was said. 2. Send a written request (email or certified mail) asking for an explanation of why your payments stopped and when they will resume. 3. Contact your local state representative or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can help with these issues. 4. If you're facing financial hardship due to this, make sure to mention it. There might be expedited processes for urgent cases. 5. Consider filing a formal appeal if they don't resolve this quickly. 6. Look into any local legal aid organizations that might be able to help you navigate this. Remember, you have the right to these benefits. Don't give up!

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds archaic, but sometimes it gets faster results than calling or emailing.
