SDI benefits: How to get last payment amount for new card when EDD unreachable?

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my SDI benefits. I need to get my last payment amount but I can't find it anywhere. I didn't receive my card and now I need the correct dollar amount to get a new one. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get this info or reach someone at EDD?

guys I just had a wild idea. what if we all pool our money together and hire a skywriter to write "EDD HELP US" over their office? Too much? ✈️☁️

I love the creativity, but I think that money would be better spent on therapy for dealing with EDD stress 😂

Okay, listen up. I've been through this rodeo before and here's what you need to do: 1. First, double-check your online account. Sometimes the info is there but hard to find. Look for a section called "Payment History" or "Claim Details". 2. If that doesn't work, you need to contact EDD directly. Yes, it's a pain, but it's necessary. 3. When you call, have your claim number ready (if you have it). Also, be prepared to verify your identity. 4. Ask specifically for the amount of your last payment. Make it clear you need this for a replacement card. 5. If they can't help over the phone, ask them to mail you a statement. It might take a while, but at least you'll have the info. 6. As a last resort, you can try contacting your local assemblyperson's office. They sometimes have direct lines to EDD. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! Good luck!

This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and who you talked to. It helps if you need to escalate later.

I had a similar issue last year. It's frustrating, but you gotta keep trying to reach them. Call early in the morning, like right when they open. That's how I finally got through.

Early morning calls are hit or miss for me. I've had better luck calling right before lunch. Less people calling then, I think.

Really? Huh, maybe I just got lucky. Guess it's all about timing and a bit of luck 🍀

Plot twist: what if we all show up at their office in person? They can't ignore us then! Who's with me? 😤✊

Lmao imagine the look on their faces 🤣 But for real, that might just get us arrested

Have you tried reaching out to them on Twitter? Sometimes their social media team is more responsive than their phone lines. Worth a shot! 🐦

This is why I always screenshot EVERYTHING. You never know when you'll need that info again. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess.

Hey OP, when was the last time you actually received a payment? Might help to narrow down the timeframe when youre looking for the info.

Good question! It's been a couple months now. I should've kept better records 😓

Keeping a simple record or journal can really help with these situations. Sometimes it's tough to backtrack after so much time has passed.

Serious question: has anyone ever successfully navigated the EDD system without wanting to pull their hair out? Asking for a friend (the friend is me, I'm losing it) 😅

Legend has it there's one person who did, but they ascended to a higher plane of existence immediately after

I think that's like asking if anyone's ever licked their own elbow. Theoretically possible, but has anyone actually done it? 🤔

It's a tough system to navigate for sure, but with a bit of patience and some solid tips, it's possible to get through.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😡

Idk man, sounds kinda sketchy. How do we know it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. Just sharing what worked for me 🤷‍♀️

It might seem pricey, but for some folks, the convenience and time saved might be worth it. Always good to weigh your options!

Ugh, classic EDD nonsense. I swear they make everything as difficult as possible. Have you tried logging into your online account? Sometimes the info is buried in there somewhere.

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds like we're back in the 90s, but sometimes that works when nothing else does. 📠

lol what's next, sending a carrier pigeon? 🐦 But for real, if it works, it works 🤷‍♂️

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the phone, try sending a message through your online account. Sometimes they respond faster that way. It's not instant, but it's something.

Messaging through the online portal has worked for me in the past. Not the quickest, but at least it's another option.

Have you checked your bank statements? If the money was direct deposited, you might be able to find the amount there.

Navigating issues with the EDD can be incredibly frustrating given the volume of inquiries they receive. While Claimyr offers a service that may expedite reaching a representative, it's important to weigh the cost against personal convenience. Not everyone may want to spend $20 for this service, and it's crucial to remember that waiting patiently or trying different contact methods (phone, online messages, or social media) can also yield results without additional expense. Always explore multiple avenues to find what works best for your situation. That said, Claimyr has been validated by many users for its effectiveness in reducing wait times, which can be a lifesaver when time is of the essence.
