SDI Pregnancy Claim Stuck Pending Since 8/1 - No Payments & Need Name Change. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my short-term disability claim for pregnancy. I submitted it on August 1st, but it's still showing as pending and I haven't received any payments. I also need to update my legal last name due to marriage and change the claim date. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any advice on how to get this sorted out quickly?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them directly? It can be a nightmare to get through, but it's usually the fastest way to get answers.

I've been trying to call, but the wait times are insane! 😫 Any tips on the best time to call?

Early morning, right when they open, is usually your best bet. Set an alarm and be ready to dial the second they open!

Pro tip: use the bathroom BEFORE you call. Nothing worse than finally getting through and then having to pee! 🚽😅

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? 🤔

It worked for me! Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

I get it, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not sitting on hold for hours was totally worth it.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Call first thing in the morning 2. Have all your info ready (claim number, SSN, etc) 3. Be polite but firm with the agent 4. Ask for a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere 5. Follow up with an email summarizing your call 6. Document EVERYTHING Stay persistent! The system is designed to wear you down, but don't give up!

Congrats on your marriage! Don't forget to update your name with Social Security first, if you haven't already. That can cause issues with other gov agencies if it doesn't match.

Anyone else notice how these issues always seem to pop up right when you need the money most? It's like they know... 👀
