PFL claim stuck in processing for a month after baby's birth - need help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my paid family leave claim. I filed it a month ago after having my baby, but it's still pending processing. I really need this to go through soon as the bills are starting to pile up. Has anyone else experienced delays like this? Any advice on how to speed things up?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I went through something similar last year. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things moving.

I've been trying to call, but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

Or try calling at the end of the day. Sometimes theres less traffic then. Good luck!

Congrats on the new baby! 🎉 But yeah, the system is so slow rn. I filed 6 weeks ago and just got approved yesterday. Hang in there!

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes there's additional info they need but don't tell you about. Worth a shot!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

$20 seems steep just to make a phone call...

I get that, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, not having to sit on hold for hours was totally worth it.

This is why we need better systems in place. It's ridiculous that new parents have to jump through so many hoops just to get the support they're entitled to. 😤

Yeah but good luck with that. Government efficiency is an oxymoron lol

Here's what worked for me: 1. Double-check all your paperwork. Make sure everything is filled out correctly and you haven't missed any signatures. 2. If you haven't already, get a letter from your employer confirming your leave dates. 3. Call first thing in the morning, right when they open. Be persistent. 4. If calling doesn't work, try reaching out via their online portal or email system. 5. Consider contacting your local representative's office. Sometimes they can help push things through. 6. Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them. Hang in there! It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it. Congrats on the new addition to your family!

Have you tried faxing your documents? I know it sounds old school, but sometimes it gets their attention faster than online submissions.
