No notices after requesting EDD overpayment offset adjustment - What to do?
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I previously asked for my overpayment offset amount to be adjusted, but now I haven't received any notices about it. I'm not sure what's going on or what my next steps should be. Has anyone else dealt with this before? Any advice on what I should say when I finally get through to someone on the phone?

Ugh, dealing with overpayment issues is THE WORST. I've been there, and it's like talking to a brick wall sometimes. Have you tried checking your online account for any updates? Sometimes they don't send physical notices, but update stuff online.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did check online, but there's nothing new there either. It's like my request just vanished into thin air š«

Classic government efficiency at work š Maybe try sending a follow-up request through the online portal? Sometimes you gotta be the squeaky wheel to get the grease, ya know?

When you call, make sure you have all your ducks in a row. Here's what I'd suggest: ā¢ Have your original request details handy (date, amount, reason) ā¢ Ask for a status update on your adjustment request ā¢ Inquire about why no notices were sent ā¢ Request a timeline for when you can expect a decision ā¢ Get the name and ID of the person you speak with ā¢ Ask if there's any additional info they need from you Be polite but firm. Sometimes you gotta advocate for yourself in these situations. Good luck!

Wow, this is super helpful! I'll definitely use this as a checklist when I call. Thanks so much for taking the time to write all this out!

This is solid advice right here šÆ I'd add one more thing: ask them to notate your account with the details of your call. It helps create a paper trail.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate after trying for weeks to get through. It saved me hours of hold time.

have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds like were back in the 90s lol but sometimes old school methods work best with these dinosaur agencies

Oof, overpayment issues are a nightmare. I've been dealing with mine for months now. It's like they purposely make it confusing just to wear us down. Hang in there, OP!

Months?! Oh man, I hope mine doesn't drag on that long. How are you coping with it all?

Honestly? Lots of deep breaths and reminding myself that eventually, it'll get sorted. Just gotta keep pushing through, ya know?

Plot twist: what if they adjusted it and it's now $0, so they didn't send a notice? š¤ Probably not, but wouldn't that be nice? š

Haha, I wish! That would be the dream scenario. But knowing my luck, it's probably just lost in the system somewhere š
