Need help with EDD disability claim status - what to ask when I finally get through?

Hey everyone, I'm trying to get some info on my disability claim. I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm not sure what to do next. Anyone have experience with this? What should I ask when I finally get through to someone?

When you finally get through, make sure you have all your claim details ready. Ask about the status, any pending docs they need from you, and how long it might take to process. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice! Do you know if there's anything specific I should have on hand besides my claim number?

Definitely have your social security number, any medical documentation dates, and a list of your doctors. Also, write down any questions you have beforehand so you don't forget!

Don't forget to ask about any retroactive payments too! Sometimes they owe you more than you think šŸ’°

Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Pro tip: I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without waiting for hours. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

Idk man, paying to talk to a government agency feels wrong. Shouldn't this be free?

I get the skepticism, but after spending days trying to get through, $20 was worth it for me. Just sharing what worked šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Here's what you need to know about disability claims: ā€¢ Processing time can vary, but it's usually 2-3 weeks ā€¢ Make sure all your medical docs are submitted ā€¢ Keep a record of all your communications with them ā€¢ If denied, you have 30 days to appeal ā€¢ Consider getting a disability advocate if things get complicated Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
