Late payment on claim causing financial stress - need advice on talking to EDD agent
I'm having issues with a late payment on my claim and it's really stressing me out. Has anyone else dealt with this? How long did you have to wait to get it resolved? I'm worried about my financial situation and could use some advice on what to say to the agent when I finally get through.

Ugh, late payments are the worst! I've been there too. When I called, I made sure to explain my financial hardship clearly. Be polite but firm about needing the payment ASAP. Good luck!

This is solid advice. I'd also recommend having all your claim info ready when you call. Makes the process smoother.

Yep, and don't forget to ask for a specific timeline for when you can expect the payment. Hold them accountable!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of hold time.

I get that, but think about how much your time is worth. For me, it was totally worth it to avoid the frustration.

Late payments have been a huge issue lately. I've heard they're understaffed and overwhelmed with claims. Doesn't make it any easier for us tho š¤

Here's what worked for me: ā¢ Call first thing in the morning, right when they open ā¢ Have all your docs ready (claim number, ID, etc.) ā¢ Be super nice to the agent, they deal with angry people all day ā¢ Explain your situation calmly but stress the urgency ā¢ Ask for a supervisor if the first agent can't help ā¢ Get a reference number for your call It took me a few tries, but I finally got my late payment sorted. Hang in there!

The whole system is broken af. I've been waiting 6 weeks for a payment. This is ridiculous!

6 weeks?! That's insane. Have you contacted your local rep? Sometimes they can help push things through.

Pro tip: keep a log of all your calls, who you spoke to, and what they said. It'll help if you need to escalate your case later.
