30 Day Backpay Delay from EDD - Need Advice!

I've been waiting for my backpay for 30 days now and it's causing me serious financial strain. Has anyone else experienced this kind of delay? Any advice on how to speed up the process or what to say when I finally get through to someone?

I found a way to solve unemployment backpay delays, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9hwp5vtrm8

Ugh, I feel you. I was in the same boat last month. It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money and it just... doesn't come. Have you tried calling them? I know its a pain, but sometimes thats the only way to get answers.

I've tried calling but I can never get through. It's like hitting a brick wall every time. 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can sneak through before the lines get jammed.

30 days? That's nothing. I've been waiting for 3 months now. The system is completely broken. 🤡

Here's what worked for me: I found this site called claimyr.com that has a calling tool. It dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It costs $20, but it actually works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

$20? That's steep. But I guess if it works... 🤔

I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It really did work for me. Got through in about 2 hours instead of days of trying.

Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under the unemployment office.

I hadn't thought of that. Do you just email their office or what?

Yep, just find your rep on the state website and send them an email explaining your situation. They usually have staff dedicated to helping with this stuff.

OK, here's the deal with backpay delays (former EDD employee here): 1. System overload: The pandemic caused a huge backlog that they're still working through. 2. Verification issues: Make sure all your docs are in order and uploaded correctly. 3. Claim discrepancies: Any inconsistencies in your claim can cause delays. 4. Funding gaps: Sometimes it's just a matter of waiting for the next round of funding. Best things you can do: - Double-check all your info for accuracy - Keep certifying weekly, even if you're not getting paid - Document everything: dates you called, who you spoke to, etc. - Be persistent but polite when you do get through Hang in there, OP. It's a frustrating process, but they do eventually get to everyone.
