Waited 24+ hours for payment, what to do?
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with a frustrating situation. I've been waiting over 24 hours to get paid for some work I did. I tried calling them but no luck. Now I'm stuck waiting another full day to see if it gets resolved. Has anyone else dealt with delayed payments like this? Any advice on how to speed things up?

I found a way to solve delayed payment for freelance work, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7HiGkj-7Sw

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling.

Yeah, I sent an email yesterday but still no response. It's so frustrating!

Damn, that's rough. Maybe try reaching out on social media? Sometimes companies respond faster when it's public.

Social media is a good idea. I got a response within an hour when I tweeted at a company about a late payment once.

I feel your pain, OP. Late payments are the worst. Have you checked your contract to see if there's any clause about payment timelines? Might be worth reviewing.

24 hours isn't that long tbh. Some companies take up to 30 days to process payments. Maybe give it a bit more time?

I guess you're right, but it's still annoying when you're counting on that money š«

30 days?! That's insane. I'd never work for a company with those terms. Bills don't wait 30 days lol

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone when dealing with stuff like this. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work? š¤

It worked for me! Saved me hours of hold time. Totally worth the $20 imo.

I get the skepticism, but when you're dealing with late payments or other urgent issues, sometimes it's worth it to get through quickly. Time is money, ya know? šÆ

Have you tried following up with your direct supervisor or the person who assigned you the work? They might be able to push things along internally.

This is why I always insist on contracts with clear payment terms and late fees. It's a pain to set up, but it saves so much hassle down the line. Here's what I recommend: ā¢ Always have a written agreement, even for small jobs ā¢ Specify exact payment due dates (e.g., within 14 days of invoice) ā¢ Include late payment fees (like 1.5% per month after due date) ā¢ Clearly outline the work to be done and deliverables ā¢ Consider requiring a deposit for new clients ā¢ Keep detailed records of all work and communications It might seem like overkill, but trust me, it's saved my ass more than once. And most legit clients will respect you more for being professional about it.

Late fees are key. Nothing motivates a company to pay faster than the threat of owing more money lol
