SDI Payment Delayed Past Due Date - What to Do?
Anyone else dealing with delayed disability payments? I'm past the payment date and still haven't received anything. It's causing some serious financial strain. Any advice on how to handle this or what to say when I finally get through to someone?

Ugh, I feel you. I've been in the same boat. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

Yeah, I've been trying to call but keep getting stuck on hold forever. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through.

Or try calling at like 4:55 PM. Sometimes they stay a few mins after close to finish up calls.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

Yeah, it actually does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time.

$20 tho? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free 🙄

I get it, but for me, it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Time is money, ya know?

Here's what I would say when you get through: 1. Explain your situation calmly 2. Ask for a specific timeline for your payment 3. Inquire about any steps you can take to expedite the process 4. Get the name and ID of the person you're speaking with 5. Ask if there's a direct number or extension you can use for follow-up Stay polite but firm. Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add: take notes during the call. It's easy to forget details when you're stressed.

have you checked your online account? sometimes the payment shows as processed there before it hits your bank account

Have you tried contacting your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

Just a heads up, there was a system update last week that caused some payment delays. They said it should be resolved by end of this week. Hang in there!

typical government efficiency 🙄 why even do updates if it messes everything up?

idk if this helps but I was in a similar situation last year. turns out there was a problem with my direct deposit info. might be worth double-checking that everything is correct on your end

UBI would create more problems than it solves. We just need to fix the current system.
