EDD payment issues - Need advice on callbacks and getting through to a rep
Hey everyone, I'm having issues with my unemployment payments again. I was supposed to get a callback yesterday but it was too late and they closed. Now I'm wondering if I need to pay again for another callback or if I should just wait. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's so frustrating when you're counting on that money and it doesn't come through. Any advice on how to handle this or get in touch with someone who can help?

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD system is such a mess rn. I've been dealing with payment issues for weeks now. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a nightmare, but sometimes you can get through if you keep trying.

Calling directly is like winning the lottery these days š I spent 3 hours on hold last week only to get disconnected

Yeah, you're right. It's a total crapshoot. But sometimes you get lucky! I managed to get through last month after like 50 tries š

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Can you explain more about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

They don't guarantee it, but they keep trying until they get through. It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. They just called me when an agent picked up.

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: ā¢ First, don't pay for another callback yet. You're still within the 48-hour window, so you should be able to get another attempt without extra cost. ā¢ Document everything. Keep a log of all your attempts to contact them, including dates, times, and any reference numbers. ā¢ Check your online account for any updates or messages. Sometimes they'll post important info there that might explain the payment delay. ā¢ If you can't get through by phone, try reaching out via social media. EDD has Twitter and Facebook accounts, and sometimes they respond there. ā¢ As a last resort, contact your local state representative's office. They often have liaisons who can intervene on your behalf with EDD. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up! The system is overwhelmed, but keep pushing and you'll get your money eventually. Good luck!

The state rep tip is clutch. They helped me resolve an issue last year when I was at my wits end

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try reaching out on social media, hadn't thought of that before.

This whole system is rigged against us, I swear. They make it so hard to get what we're owed. Hang in there OP, we're all in the same sinking boat š¢

It's not rigged, they're just understaffed and overwhelmed. Cut them some slack

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds old school, but I actually got a response that way last month when nothing else was working
