EDD SDI: No payments or updates since July 1st filing, can't access account - What to do?
I filed for disability on July 1st and still haven't gotten any payments or updates. I can't even access my account online. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do when I call them? I'm getting worried about paying my bills.

Have you tried calling them? Here's what you should do: 1. Gather all your info: claim number, SSN, filing date 2. Ask specific questions: - What's the status of my payment? - Is there anything else you need from me? - Why can't I access my account online? 3. Be patient but persistent 4. Document everything they tell you Good luck! The system is a mess rn

Great advice! I would also add that it's important to remain calm when you do get through to someone. Unfortunately, the reps are dealing with tons of cases.

And keep trying if you can't get through the first time. Persistence can pay off.

Welcome to EDD hell, buddy. You're not alone. I've been waiting since May and still nothing. It's like they're playing hide and seek with our money.

It's so frustrating that they can't seem to get their act together. I worry about how many people are in similar situations. 😔

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely try calling. Any idea how long the wait times are?

Lol prepare to waste your whole day. I once waited 6 hours and then got disconnected 🤡

Pro tip: call right when they open. You might get lucky and only wait an hour or two.

Also, if you have a day off, try calling then. It might be easier when you aren't juggling other responsibilities.

I tried calling a few times, but the line was always busy. I've heard early mornings are the best chance.

Guys, I work in IT and I think I know why the online system is so messed up. Their infrastructure is probably decades old and can't handle the volume of claims. It's like trying to run Cyberpunk 2077 on a Gameboy Color.

Pretty much. Unless they get a massive tech upgrade, which, let's be real, ain't happening anytime soon.

It's sad that such a crucial system is running on outdated tech. This needs serious government intervention.

Hey OP, hang in there. I know it's tough, but keep pushing. I was in your shoes last year and it eventually worked out. Some tips: 1. Keep a paper trail of EVERYTHING 2. Set reminders to follow up regularly 3. Don't be afraid to escalate if you're not getting answers 4. Join Facebook groups for support and tips 5. Take care of your mental health - this process can be draining We're all rooting for you! 💪

Plot twist: What if the EDD is actually run by squirrels and that's why everything's so nuts? 🐿️

Maybe we should all show up at their office. Strength in numbers, right? 😤

An organized protest could bring media attention, but I doubt it would fix the system overnight.

Hey OP, it sounds like you're dealing with a really frustrating situation. First and foremost, it's important to keep calm and be persistent. Claimyr has gained some attention for helping individuals connect with EDD at a faster rate, although the $20 fee can be seen as steep by some. It seems like several people have had positive experiences with it, especially when dealing with long wait times. Still, consider this option if you're pressed for time or have been unsuccessful through direct calls. On the flipside, there are other methods you can try, such as contacting your local representative or even sending your documents by fax, which some find more reliable than online submissions. Additionally, being aware that IT infrastructure issues may be contributing to these delays can help manage expectations. Reaching out to others in similar situations, such as through support groups, can also provide helpful tips and emotional support. Most importantly, remember to take care of your mental health during this stressful time. You're not alone in this, and many are navigating the same challenges right now. Hang in there!

Old school methods sometimes work best. I've also heard mailing documents can be more reliable in certain situations.

I found a way to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I used Claimyr too, and while it was a bit steep, I was desperate and it indeed got me connected way faster.

Y'all ever think about how we're basically begging for our own money back? Like, we paid into this system, and now we gotta jump through hoops to get help. It's messed up.

It's ridiculous we have to fight so hard for benefits we earned. The system needs to respect and serve its purpose.
