EDD Phone Nightmare: Any Success Stories or Tips for Getting Through?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my EDD claim and I'm not sure what to do. I've been trying to get through to someone on the phone but it's been impossible. Has anyone else had any luck getting in touch with a real person at EDD lately? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to reach EDD for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something 🙄

Same here! I've called like 50 times and still nothing. This system is so broken 😤

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

Yeah, I've tried that too. No luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point 🎰

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. After weeks of trying, I finally got through. Worth every penny imo

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them your personal info?

Nah, you just put in your phone number and they call you when they get an agent. You don't give them any EDD info or anything like that.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: • Call early in the morning, like right when they open • Keep trying even if you get the busy signal • Use the online portal to send messages, sometimes they respond faster that way • If you can, try to find your local assemblyperson's office. They can sometimes help push things through • Be patient and persistent. It sucks, but eventually you'll get through Hope this helps someone out there. We're all in this together! 💪

The assemblyperson tip is legit. They helped me resolve my issue in like a week!

Anyone else feel like were living in a kafka novel? This whole EDD situation is absurd

LOL for real tho. It's like they designed the system to be as frustrating as possible 🤡

Kafka? More like a horror story. EDD is the monster that won't die 😱

Pro tip: if you have a complex issue, try to get it in writing. Send a detailed message through the online portal. Sometimes you'll get a more thorough response that way.

I'm so done with EDD. Been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. Anyone know if there's a way to escalate this?

3 months? That's rough buddy. Have you tried contacting your state rep? They might be able to help

No, I haven't. How do I find out who my state rep is?

Just google '[your city] state representative'. They usually have a form on their website for constituent services. Good luck!

Yall ever notice how the EDD website always seems to be down for maintenance when you actually need to use it? 🙄
