EDD: Can't get through to a live agent. Any tips?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with EDD and I really need to get in touch with them. Has anyone had any luck getting through to a live agent lately? I've been trying for days and it's so frustrating. Any tips or tricks would be really appreciated!

I found a way to solve EDD live agent contact issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8u9PpDV0z6g

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been trying to reach them for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to get help or something. 🤬

Same here! Its like playing the lottery trying to get through to them. I've even tried calling right when they open and still nothing.

Have you guys tried calling different times of the day? I heard early afternoon can sometimes work better.

Yeah, I've tried all times of day. No luck so far. This system is so broken 😤

I actually found a method that worked for me! I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to your phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to keep your phone free while it's calling?

Nah, that's the beauty of it. You just put in your info, pay, and go about your day. When they connect you, your phone rings and you're talking to an agent. Easy peasy.

Here's what I've learned after months of dealing with EDD: 1. Persistence is key. Keep calling, even if it feels hopeless. 2. Try calling right at 8:00 AM when they open. Sometimes you can get through before the queue fills up. 3. If you get a recording saying they're too busy, hang up and redial immediately. Sometimes you can catch an opening. 4. Use the online portal as much as possible for simple issues. 5. If you do get through, be super nice to the agent. They're dealing with a lot too. 6. Have all your info ready before you call - claim number, dates, etc. 7. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this together. 💪

The assembly member tip is legit. They helped me resolve an issue that had been pending for months!

Anyone else feel like we're living in a dystopian novel? Fighting to get basic support during a global crisis. What a world 🤡

Pro tip: if you have a complex issue, try to get transferred to a Tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to fix things.

How do you get transferred to a Tier 2? Just ask?

PixelPrincess

Yeah, if the regular agent can't help, politely ask if you can speak to a Tier 2 specialist. Sometimes they'll transfer you.

I'm so done with EDD. Been waiting 3 months for my claim to be processed. Anyone know if there's a way to escalate?

3 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your state representative? They might be able to help.

No, I haven't. Didn't even know that was an option. I'll look into it, thanks!

Guys, I'm freaking out. My benefits just stopped out of nowhere and I can't get through to anyone. I have bills due next week. What do I do?? 😰

Deep breaths, we've all been there. Try the tips in the top comment, and maybe look into local food banks or assistance programs while you sort this out.

Call your bill companies and explain the situation. Some are offering extensions due to COVID. Hang in there!

Has anyone had luck with the online chat feature? I've been trying to use it but it always says no agents are available.

The chat is a joke. I've never once gotten through. Calling is your best bet, unfortunately.
