EDD Certification Issue: Can't Certify for New Period After Full Month Certification
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my EDD certification. I certified for the whole month in my last period, and now I can't certify for the new period. Has anyone else run into this? What should I do? I'm worried about my benefits getting messed up.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Here's what you need to do: 1. Try logging into your EDD account and check if there are any messages or alerts about your certification. 2. If you can't find any info there, you NEED to call EDD. Be prepared to wait on hold for a long time. 3. When you get through, explain that you certified for the entire month previously and now can't certify for the new period. 4. Ask them to review your account and adjust the certification dates if necessary. 5. Make sure to get a confirmation number or the name of the rep you spoke with. 6. After they fix it, ask them to walk you through certifying for the current period to make sure it works. Good luck! The EDD system is a mess, but persistence pays off.

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main EDD line, try calling your local Assembly member's office. They often have direct lines to EDD and can help escalate your case.
