EDD Certification: How many times can I call before hitting a limit?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to certify for EDD benefits and I'm having some trouble. I've been calling and calling but can't seem to get through. Does anyone know how many calls we're allowed to make or if there's a limit? I'm getting pretty frustrated with the whole process. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! π« I've been in the same boat for weeks now. As far as I know, there's no limit on how many times you can call EDD. They just make it nearly impossible to get through. Keep trying tho, eventually you'll get lucky!

Have you guys tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through.

@profile 3 Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's like playing the lottery at this point π°

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's the link: https://claimyr.com

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

I get the skepticism, but it really did work for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate enough to give it a shot. Beats wasting hours on hold imo

How long did it take for them to get you connected?

@profile 7 It took about an hour and a half, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Here's what I've learned from my experience with EDD certification: 1. There's no official limit on calls, but too many rapid attempts might temporarily block your number. 2. Best times to call are usually early morning (8:00-8:30 AM) or just after lunch (1:00-1:30 PM). 3. Use the online portal whenever possible - it's often faster than calling. 4. If you must call, have all your info ready: SSN, claim ID, employment history, etc. 5. Be patient and polite with the reps - they're dealing with a lot too. 6. If you're really stuck, consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps! Hang in there, everyone. πͺ

@profile 10 Yep! They have liaisons who can directly contact EDD on your behalf. Google your district and reach out to their office.

Has anyone else had issues with their online certification not going through? I've tried three times now and it keeps giving me an error. wondering if I should just bite the bullet and try calling instead.

Yep, happened to me last month. Turned out it was a browser issue. Try clearing your cache or using a different browser!
