CalWORKs payment inconsistency - got partial benefits after confusing discontinuance letter

Sometimes they process the discontinuance notice and the reinstatement in the same batch, which creates those confusing letters. The same thng hapend to me in july! the county is so disorganized OMG. turns out there was a "system flag" on my case bcuz i reported a change of address but they lost the paper. my benfit was 2 weeks late but they did backpay me. BUT u have to keep calling them over and over. dont assume it will fix itself!!! also check ur benfitscal account to see if they posted any notices there sometimes they upload stuff there that they dont mail out

Just to clarify something important - the $23 you received on the 2nd was likely your CalFresh (food stamps) supplement, not related to your CalWORKs cash aid. They're separate programs even though they're often managed together. If you're seeing your case as active in BenefitsCal but no payment, I strongly recommend either: 1. Going in person to your county office if possible, as they often can resolve issues on the spot 2. UPDATE: I finally got through to the county this morning! They said there was a "system flag" on my case because I reported a change in my work hours (I got a few more hours at my job last month). Even though my income is still well below the IRT limit, they had to verify it before releasing my payment.
