If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

can u use these at same places as regular ebt? i got mine but some stores say they dont take them but they take my regular ebt card??

They should work anywhere that accepts EBT for food purchases. If stores are having trouble processing them, it might be because the system is still catching up with the new program. Ask them to run it as a regular EBT food transaction. If they still have problems, you can call the number on the back of the card for help.

Update: I activated the cards and checked the balances. Each one has $120 just like you all said! So grateful for this extra help with groceries this summer. The kids are home all day and honestly they eat SO MUCH more than during school. Thanks everyone for explaining what these are!

u know whats crazy, is that they expect us to have everything perfect but then they lose our stuff all the time and were just supposed to deal with it?? like how is that fair?? and then we gotta wait while our kids are hungry

0 coins

EXACTLY!! If we're late with paperwork even by ONE DAY they cut us off immediately. But when they make mistakes we just have to wait and suffer. It's so frustrating.

Update us on what happens! And remember to request a State Hearing if they don't resolve this quickly. You can request a hearing online through the CDSS website. Having a pending hearing sometimes motivates counties to resolve issues faster. Also, make sure to document every conversation - who you spoke with, date/time, and what was said. This will be important if you need to escalate the issue. Take names and ID numbers of everyone you speak with.

I will definitely update! And thank you for the reminder about documenting everything. I've started keeping notes of all my calls in a notebook, but I didn't think to ask for ID numbers. That's a good tip.

Make sure you get the Stage 1 to Stage 2 childcare transition paperwork started as soon as possible! After you've been in CalWORKs for a while, your childcare moves from Stage 1 to Stage 2, and if you don't get the paperwork done in time, there can be a gap in coverage. Happened to me and I had to pay out of pocket for 2 weeks. Just an FYI so you don't get caught by surprise!

One more thing - if you're meeting your Welfare-to-Work hours through employment, education, or approved activities, CalWORKs should cover childcare for those hours PLUS reasonable transportation time. So if you work until 5:30 but need 30 minutes to get to the childcare provider, care until 6pm should be covered. Make sure this is clearly documented in your WTW plan and childcare authorization.

Thank you! This is exactly what I need. My WTW plan actually says "employment plus reasonable transportation time" but nobody explained what that actually meant in terms of the childcare hours. I'll make sure it's noted that I need that extra time for pickup.

Just a heads up, since ur SAR7 was for Nov-April benefit period, don't 4get that December is also when they add the special needs winter clothing allowance for families with kids in colder counties! So ur Dec payment might be even more than what the worker told you if u have children on ur case and live in one of those counties. I always forget about this until it shows up!

what counties get that??? i never heard of winter clothing money and im in sacramento with 2 kids!

The winter clothing allowance is only for specific mountain and northern counties with colder weather. Sacramento unfortunately doesn't qualify. It's mainly for places like Alpine, Lassen, Modoc, Sierra, Siskiyou and a few others. The allowance is $30 per eligible child and gets added to the December payment automatically if you live in a qualifying county.

Did you also report the income change on your CalFresh (food stamps)? Just making sure because sometimes people forget that CalWORKs and CalFresh are separate even though they're on the same EBT card. Your CalFresh should also increase with the lower income, but that might be on a different schedule than your cash aid.

Yes! The worker said my CalFresh is going up by $190 too. I was mainly focused on the cash aid for rent, but the extra food money will definitely help. I'm guessing that increase will also start in December?

0 coins

That's correct - both your CalWORKs and CalFresh increases will start with your December benefits. CalFresh follows the same reporting schedule as CalWORKs when you receive both programs. The good news is you'll get both increases at once!

Based on your responses, this sounds like it might be a supportive service payment related to your Welfare to Work participation. San Bernardino County often provides transportation allowances, ancillary payments (for things like books, supplies, or uniforms), and sometimes retroactive childcare stipends to WTW participants. These are separate from your regular Cash Aid amount. However, the only way to know for sure is to contact your worker. When you call, specifically ask if it's: 1. A WTW supportive service payment 2. The diaper benefit for your 2-year-old ($30/month per eligible child) 3. A retroactive adjustment Also request that they document in your case notes that you called to inquire about the payment. This protects you in case they later claim it was an overpayment.

THIS!!! Always get them to note in your file that YOU contacted THEM about it. I learned this the hard way. They tried to claim I knew about an overpayment and didn't report it, which can be considered fraud. I had no way to prove I had called about it.

UPDATE: Finally got through to my worker! It WAS the transportation allowance for my WTW activities plus they owed me a diaper stipend for my 2-year-old that hadn't been processed correctly. She said I should have gotten a notice about it but it must have gotten lost in the mail. She's sending me a new one. Thanks everyone for the help!!

That's great! Gonna call about mine tomorrow. Glad it was something you were actually entitled to and not a mistake!
