If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

UPDATE: I finally got through to someone at the county office this morning! The worker confirmed there was a system error that affected my case and a bunch of others. She put in for an emergency payment that should be on my EBT card within 48 hours. She also said they're working on fixing everyone else's cases too, but it's a manual process so it's taking time. If anyone else is having this issue, definitely keep calling until you get through!

So glad you got it resolved! The squeaky wheel gets the grease with CalWORKs for sure. Never give up on getting what you're entitled to receive.

With your husband getting about $1,100 biweekly from unemployment (so around $2,200/month), you would likely still qualify for some CalWORKs, but it would be a reduced amount. Since unemployment is unearned income, they count most of it against your grant. After accounting for the unemployment, you might receive around $250-400 in CalWORKs for a family of 4, depending on your county's specific grant amounts and any other factors. It's not a lot, but combined with CalFresh benefits (which could be $500+ for a family of four with your income), it can definitely help during these two months. And yes, the diaper stipend is $30 per month per child under 3 years old who is on CalWORKs. You need to request it specifically though - many workers don't mention it if you don't ask!

This is exactly the info I needed! Even $250-400 plus food benefits would be a huge help right now. And I'll definitely ask about the diaper stipend - my youngest is 18 months so that would be really helpful too. Thank you so much!

DONT FORGET they'll also ask for a CHILD SUPPORT form!! u have to agree to let them go after ur kids father for child support if he's not in the home. I forgot about this an they almost denied my case!!

My husband is the father of both kids and we live together, so I don't think this would apply to us? But good to know for others who might be reading this thread.

Mine starts with J too and I got it yesterday! Check your EBT balance not just BenefitsCal. My account online still doesn't show it but the money is definitely on my card. I bank with Chase and got a deposit notification when it hit, that's how I knew to check. It might depend on what office handles your case too - I'm under the Clovis office even though we're all Fresno County.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm under the downtown Fresno office. I'll keep checking my card directly. Did you get a separate letter or anything about it?

No letter at all! Just the money showed up. I didn't get any notification except from my bank when the deposit hit my EBT account.

Wat is the school age supplement???? Is this different from regular CalWORKs? I have 3 kids and never heard of this but we get cash aid. Do I need to apply for something extra?? Nobody told me about any school money!!!

Jason Brewer

•

It's an automatic supplement for families with school-age children who receive CalWORKs. You don't need to apply separately. It's meant to help with school supplies, clothing, etc. Each eligible child (4-18 years old) should get $439 this year. If you get regular Cash Aid and have eligible children, you should receive it automatically based on the alphabetical schedule they're using.

Omg thank u!! Nobody ever explained this to me. My kids are 5, 7 and 12 so they should all qualify. Going to check my EBT card right now!

I'm sorry your going thru this! This whole system is BROKEN!!! My cash aid got stolen twice in 3 months and the 2nd time they accused ME of fraud!!! Had to wait almost 3 months to get my $$ back and almost got evicted. They don't care about us AT ALL. And why are we still using this garbage BofA system that keeps getting hacked??? Some states have switched to digital wallets but CA is still using this 1990s technology. Makes me so mad!!

0 coins

OMG they accused you of fraud?! That's my biggest fear. Did you have to do anything special to prove it wasn't you? I'm so paranoid they're going to deny my claim.

Yeah they said the transactions happend to close together or something? Like I somehow took all my money out twice in 2 different locations 10 min apart. Had to get all kinds of proof I was at work during those times. Complete nightmare!!!!

have u tried asking for cash assistance under the homeles assistance program while waitng? my worker said i qualified for temporary HA payment even tho i wasnt homeless yet but was at risk bcuz of the theft. got $450 emergency cash within 1 day

0 coins

Wait really? I didn't know that was an option! Do you have to be actually facing eviction or just at risk? My landlord gave me until the 10th before starting eviction proceedings.

0 coins

u just need to show ur at risk, like a notice from landlord or just explain ur situation. they can give u temporary HA once a year even if ur not homeless yet but might become homeless without help. ask for emergency HA screening asap

Final update: Finally got through to a worker (used that Claimyr service someone suggested and it actually worked). Turns out they needed verification of my new rent amount after I moved last month, but the notice went to my old address! The worker was able to take my verbal statement about the new rent and reset my CalFresh. Benefits should be available tomorrow. She also updated my address in all their systems so I don't miss future notices. Check your address on file if you moved recently!

Good to hear you got it resolved! This happens more often than it should with address changes. For anyone reading this in the future: whenever you move, make sure you update your address in BOTH BenefitsCal AND directly with your county office. Sometimes the systems don't communicate well with each other. Also, set up text alerts if your county offers them - they'll often text you about missing documents before they discontinue benefits.

thanks for the update! im going to check if thats my problem too, i did move 2 months ago and updated it online but maybe they still sent something to my old place

did u check ur income reporting threshold (IRT)? if u made more money than ur IRT amount even for just 1 month they can cut ur food stamps but usually not the cash aid for some reason

0 coins

Cass Green

•

No, my income has been the same for months. But good point about the IRT - for anyone else reading this, your IRT is on your approval notices and you have to report if you go over that amount even if it's not time for your SAR7!
