Starting new ESD claim with multiple existing IDs - need help with fresh application

I'm really stuck with my ESD account situation and need help ASAP. Three years ago I tried filing for unemployment but somehow ended up with 3 different login IDs (no clue how this happened). Now I need to file a claim again but can't remember which ID is the correct one. Is there any way to just create a completely new claim from scratch rather than trying to figure out which of my old accounts is the right one? Can I just start fresh with a brand new application? Or am I required to recover one of my old accounts before I can even begin the process? I've tried calling ESD but keep getting the busy signal. Really frustrated and bills are piling up.

You can't just create a new claim to bypass the old accounts. ESD tracks your SSN, so any new application will get connected to your existing records. You NEED to recover your correct account first. Try the "forgot username" option on the login page - they'll email it to you.

That's what I was afraid of. Problem is I don't have access to the email I used 3 years ago. I'm starting to think I'll never get this resolved.

Trust me, I've been through this exact headache. The system is designed to prevent duplicate accounts. What you need to do is call ESD's technical support directly at 855-682-0785. Specifically tell them you have multiple accounts and need them merged. They'll verify your identity and fix it on their end. Fair warning though - wait times are RIDICULOUS right now.

I waited 4 hours last week just to get disconnected! The ESD phone system is completely broken!! They need to hire more people instead of making us suffer!!!!

Hav u tried going 2 ur WorkSource office in person? Sometimes they can help w/ ESD account issues and its better than phone. My cousin got his login sorted out that way.

I didn't even think of that! There's a WorkSource about 20 minutes from me. I'll try heading there tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion!

This exact thing happened to me but with 2 accounts. The issue is that when they updated their systems a few years ago, some accounts got duplicated. The agent told me they see this A LOT. Whatever you do, don't create another account - it'll just flag you in their system and complicate things even more.

How long did the process take for you to get it sorted out? I'm getting worried about how long I'll have to wait to actually file my claim.

After I finally got through to someone, it took about 2 days for them to fix the account issues. Then I could file right away. But honestly getting through to someone was the hard part - took me almost a week of calling.

For anyone dealing with multiple ESD accounts, here's the official process: 1. Contact Technical Support at 855-682-0785 2. They'll need to verify your identity with SSN, DOB, and address 3. Explain you have multiple SAW accounts linked to ESD 4. They'll research which account has your claim history 5. They can then either recover your password for that account OR merge your accounts If you've changed emails/phone numbers since your last claim, they can update that info too. Just be prepared to go through identity verification.

Thank you so much for laying this out clearly. At least now I know exactly what to ask for when I do manage to reach someone. Really appreciate the help everyone!
