How long till Washington ESD unemployment is deposited after weekly claim approval?
Filed my weekly claim on Sunday night and it shows as processed on my Washington ESD account. Status changed to 'paid' yesterday but I still don't see the money in my bank account. This is my second week claiming and I'm getting anxious about when the deposit will actually hit. Anyone know the typical timeline from when Washington ESD shows 'paid' to when you actually get the money? My bills are due soon and I need to plan accordingly.

Usually takes 1-2 business days after the claim shows paid. If you filed Sunday and it processed Monday, you should see it by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

•Thanks! That's reassuring. I was worried something went wrong since it's been 3 days.

•Mine always comes Wednesday morning if I file Sunday night. Pretty consistent timing.

depends on your bank too, some are faster than others with processing ACH deposits from Washington ESD

•I have Chase, not sure if they're fast or slow with these deposits

•Chase is usually pretty quick, should be there by Wednesday afternoon if it processed Monday

The official timeline from Washington ESD is up to 3 business days after your claim is processed and shows 'paid' status. However, most claimants see their deposits within 1-2 business days. If you're not seeing it by Thursday and your claim shows paid, you should contact Washington ESD to verify there are no issues with your banking information on file.

•Good luck getting through to them though. I tried calling Washington ESD last week and was on hold for 2 hours before getting disconnected.

•I actually found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that helped me get through to a Washington ESD agent in like 15 minutes. They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ showing how it works. Saved me so much time and frustration trying to call myself.

•That actually sounds helpful. I hate spending entire days trying to get through to Washington ESD.

Mine hit my account this morning and I filed Sunday night, so right on schedule

•What bank do you use? Maybe mine will come later today then

•I use a local credit union, they're usually pretty fast with deposits

Been collecting UI for 4 months now and the timing is pretty consistent. File Sunday, shows processed Monday, money hits Wednesday. Only had one delay when there was a holiday.

•That's exactly what I was hoping to hear, thank you!

•Same pattern for me too. Very reliable once you know the schedule.

What if your claim is stuck in adjudication? I've been waiting 3 weeks for my claim to process and it's still showing pending adjudication. No idea when I'll actually see any money.

•Adjudication cases are different - those can take 3-6 weeks depending on the complexity of the issue. You won't receive any payments until the adjudication is resolved.

•That's exactly when Claimyr helped me. I was stuck in adjudication for a month and couldn't get anyone at Washington ESD to explain what was happening. Used their service and finally got to talk to someone who explained my case and what documents I needed to submit.

•I might have to try that. This is getting ridiculous and I have rent due next week.

Also check that your routing and account numbers are correct in your Washington ESD profile. I had a friend who waited weeks for deposits only to find out she had typed her account number wrong.

•Good point, I'll double check that in my account settings

•yeah that happened to my brother too, small typo cost him 2 weeks of delayed payments

If you need the money urgently, some banks will do provisional credit if you show them the payment confirmation from Washington ESD. Not all banks do this but worth asking.

•Really? I didn't know banks would do that for unemployment deposits

•It's not common but I've seen it happen, especially if you have a good relationship with your bank

the waiting is the worst part, especially when you're counting on that money for bills

Lucas Bey
•Exactly! The stress of not knowing when it'll hit is almost worse than being unemployed

•It gets easier once you know the pattern. The uncertainty is definitely the hardest part.

Just as an update - my deposit from Sunday's filing just hit my account this morning (Wednesday). So the 1-2 business day timeline seems accurate.

Make sure you're filing your weekly claims on time too. If you file late, it can delay the whole process by a few days.

•I filed Sunday night right when it became available, so I should be good there

•Good! Filing early in the week definitely helps with getting payments processed faster

For future reference, Washington ESD processes weekly claims in batches. Claims filed Sunday-Tuesday typically get processed together on Monday/Tuesday and payments go out Tuesday/Wednesday. Claims filed later in the week may not get processed until the following Monday.

I've been unemployed for 6 months and the deposit timing has been consistent the whole time. File Sunday evening, money hits Wednesday morning like clockwork.

What about if you have direct deposit vs the debit card option? Does that make a difference in timing?
0 coins
Hunter Edmunds
•Direct deposit is typically 1-2 days faster than the debit card option. The debit card can take 3-5 business days sometimes.

Lucas Bey
•I have direct deposit set up, so that should help with the timing

UPDATE: I actually tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned and got through to Washington ESD in about 20 minutes. Found out my adjudication was held up because they needed my separation paperwork from my employer. Finally got that resolved!

•Awesome! Glad it worked for you too. It's such a relief to actually talk to someone who can explain what's going on.

•That's great news! How long did they say it would take to resolve once you submitted the paperwork?

For anyone reading this later - the key is filing your weekly claim as early as possible on Sunday. The earlier you file, the faster it gets processed in their batch system.

•Great tip! I'll make sure to file right at midnight going forward

Also worth noting that if there's ever a delay beyond the normal timeline, it's usually because of a verification issue or a problem with your bank account info. Don't panic, just call Washington ESD to check.
