ESD finally approved my claim after 6 weeks in adjudication!
After being stuck in adjudication HELL for 6 weeks, my claim FINALLY got approved today! I was seriously about to give up. My employer sent in their documentation yesterday (after I had to call them 4 times to remind them) and ESD processed it within 24 hours. Got a notification this morning that my status changed from 'adjudication in progress' to 'paid' for all my back weeks! Total relief seeing $4,250 pending in my account after draining my savings. If anyone else is stuck in adjudication, don't lose hope - keep bugging your employer to submit their forms!

Congrats! That's a huge relief I bet. I'm currently in week 3 of adjudication and getting really anxious. Did you do anything specific to speed up the process besides contacting your employer? I've been calling ESD daily but can never get through to an actual person.

•Thanks! Honestly the thing that made the difference was getting my employer to respond. ESD couldn't do anything until they had that documentation. I did try calling ESD a bunch but also couldn't get through. My employer finally sent in some separation letter they were supposed to submit weeks ago.

This is really helpful to know! I'm in a similar situation - week 4 of adjudication and getting desperate. Did ESD ever tell you what documentation they specifically needed from your employer? My HR department claims they already sent everything, but obviously something's missing or incorrect.

•Not the OP but when I went through adjudication last year, they needed my employer to confirm my reason for separation and final wage details. Some employers drag their feet hoping your claim will be denied or you'll give up. Call your HR again and specifically ask if they've responded to the ESD's request for information about your separation - there's usually a deadline they have to respond by.

•I was in your exact situation last month. Try using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an ESD agent. They helped me skip the line and got me connected with someone who could actually explain what was happening with my claim. There's a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 - after I finally got through, the agent was able to contact my employer directly which helped move things along.

Congrats on getting your claim approved! Just to clarify for others reading this thread - adjudication is the process where ESD investigates issues that might affect your eligibility. Common reasons for adjudication include voluntary quits, terminations, availability for work, and employment status verification. By law, employers have 10 days to respond to ESD's request for information, but the system allows them a bit more time before moving forward. If your claim is in adjudication, make sure both you AND your employer have submitted all requested documentation.

•Yes exactly! In my case, it was because I was laid off due to "lack of work" but my employer initially coded it as a voluntary quit by mistake. Once they corrected that information with ESD, my claim was approved within a day.

congrats i guess but honestly the whole system is rigged. my claim has been in adjudication for TWO MONTHS and every time i call they give me a different answer. first it was "we need employer info" then it was "we need more info from you" then it was "just keep waiting" its all BS designed to make people give up on getting benefits they deserve

•Have you tried contacting your state representative? I've heard they can sometimes help push things along with ESD when claims are stuck for that long. Might be worth a try at this point.

Quick question - did you continue filing your weekly claims while in adjudication? I've been doing that but I'm worried I might be making a mistake since my status hasn't changed in weeks.

•Always continue filing your weekly claims even while in adjudication! This is extremely important. If your claim is eventually approved, you'll only receive payment for weeks you properly certified. If you miss filing for any weeks during adjudication, you'll likely need to file for a backdated payment request which creates more delays.

Did you have to repay any of the benefits after they were approved? I'm worried about getting everything and then being hit with an overpayment notice later.

•No repayment issues so far! But from what I've read, overpayments usually happen when you make a mistake on your weekly claims or if there's confusion about your work status. I was super careful to report everything accurately each week.

This is so encouraging to hear! I'm currently on week 2 of adjudication and already feeling stressed about it. My situation is similar - I was laid off due to company restructuring but I'm worried my employer might not respond quickly to ESD's requests. Did you have any backup documentation on your end that helped, like your termination letter or final paystub? I want to make sure I have everything ready in case ESD needs additional info from me while they're waiting on my employer.
