ESD adjudication date changed back - claim progress disappearing?
I'm going crazy watching my ESD claim dates! Yesterday, my adjudication status updated from 11/29 to 12/12 - I thought 'Finally! They're working on my claim!' Then this morning I log in and the date has reverted back to 11/29! It's like any progress disappeared overnight. I even called the Governor's office yesterday because I've been stuck in adjudication for so long. Has anyone else seen their adjudication dates randomly change and then revert back? Is this a good sign or bad sign? I'm so tired of this emotional rollercoaster - my savings are almost gone and I can't tell if I'm moving forward or backward in the process.

This happened to me last month! The adjudication date changed three times over two weeks. From what I understand, this usually means different ESD specialists are reviewing your claim. Each time someone new looks at it, the date might update. The date reverting doesn't necessarily mean progress was lost - it might just reflect which part of your claim they're focusing on. Try not to panic - these fluctuations are actually normal in the system.

•Really?? That gives me some hope! How long did it take for your claim to finally get approved after you saw those date changes?

calling the governors office probly didnt help tbh. they just send a message to esd and makes ur claim get flagged for extra review. those date changes are just system glitches happens all the time. my brothers claim had like 5 different dates showing up before it got fixed

•This isn't entirely accurate. Contacting the Governor's office can help in some cases, especially for claims stuck in the system for extended periods. They can expedite review in certain circumstances. The date changes aren't always glitches - they often indicate actual movement within the system as different specialists handle different aspects of adjudication. Each specialist may update records as they work on specific issues related to the claim.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO CONFUSE AND DISCOURAGE YOU!!! They WANT you to give up! I had SEVEN different adjudication dates over 2 months before finally getting approved. They're understaffed and overwhelmed but instead of admitting it they just keep bouncing claims around. Don't give up - that's exactly what they want!!!

•I understand your frustration, but having worked adjacent to ESD, I can tell you it's not a conspiracy. The changing dates usually indicate your claim is moving between departments or specialists. Each time someone touches your file, the system may update with their access timestamp. It's actually better to see date changes than no movement at all for weeks.

Have you tried calling ESD directly? I know the wait times are terrible, but I finally got through after using Claimyr (claimyr.com). They have this system that holds your place in line and calls you when an agent is available. Saved me hours of being on hold. There's a demo video here if you want to see how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. When I finally talked to an agent, they explained that the changing dates were actually signs of progress as different specialists were reviewing my claim. Worth a shot instead of just watching the dates change!

•I've been trying to call for weeks with no luck! Thanks for the suggestion - I'll check out that service. Did they actually give you useful information when you got through or just generic answers?

•They actually gave me specific information! The agent could see exactly who had looked at my claim and what was still needed. Much more helpful than the vague online status.

my claim did the EXACT same thing in January!! first it said 1/5 then 1/17 then back to 1/5 and I was convinced they lost my paperwork. but then it suddenly got approved a week later! the rep told me later that sometimes when they assign different issues to different reviewers the dates can bounce around. hang in there!

To answer your question from earlier - after seeing the date changes, my claim was approved within about 10 days. From what the agent told me when I finally spoke with someone, the changing dates can actually be a positive sign that your claim is being actively worked on rather than sitting in a queue somewhere. Different specialists may be looking at different aspects of your claim (wage verification, reason for separation, etc.), and each one might update the system differently.

•That's so good to hear! 10 days would be amazing - I've been in adjudication for over 5 weeks now. I'm going to try to stay positive and see if I can reach someone directly to get more info. Thanks for sharing your experience!

For anyone dealing with adjudication date changes, here's what's actually happening behind the scenes: 1. Initial adjudication date = when your issue was first identified 2. Date changes = claim moving between specialists or departments 3. Date reversions = sometimes happen when multiple issues are being reviewed The ESD system wasn't designed to show claimants these internal workflows, which is why it appears inconsistent. Best advice: don't read too much into the specific dates. Instead, focus on making sure you've submitted all requested documents and keep an eye on your messages section for any requests for information.

•This is spot-on. I would add that sometimes date changes happen during system maintenance too. The important thing is to make sure you've responded to any fact-finding questionnaires and uploaded all requested documents.

My sister works for ESD (not allowed to help with specific claims tho) and she told me the changing dates thing happens ALL THE TIME. She said its because of the way their computer system works. Different parts of your claim can be in different stages and the system only shows one date at a time. So it might show the newest action one day and then switch back to showing an older issue thats still open the next day. She says its confusing for the workers too!

Has anyone else noticed that these date changes seem to happen more often toward the end of the month? I swear there's some kind of quota system where they pretend to make progress at certain times! My neighbor and I both had similar experiences in different months!

•I haven't noticed any pattern with end-of-month changes. In my experience and from what I've read in these forums, the date changes happen somewhat randomly depending on staffing and workload. I don't think there's any evidence of a quota system - that would be extremely difficult to implement with the volume of claims they process.

UPDATE: You all were right! I finally got through to ESD this morning after trying for days. The agent explained that my claim is being reviewed by two different specialists - one handling an employment verification issue and another reviewing my availability for work. The different dates were showing depending on which part of my case was being updated. She said I should expect a decision within 7-10 business days! Such a relief to finally understand what's happening. Thanks everyone for your help and sharing your experiences!

So glad you got through and got real answers! This is exactly why calling ESD directly (even though it's a pain) is so important. Your experience perfectly illustrates what many of us have been saying - those date changes usually DO mean progress is happening, even when it doesn't feel like it. Having two specialists working on different parts of your claim actually sounds like they're being thorough. Hoping you get good news in those 7-10 days! Keep us posted on how it goes.

•This is such a helpful thread for everyone dealing with similar issues! @Oliver Becker your persistence really paid off - it s'encouraging to see that the date changes actually meant your claim was being actively worked on. I m'dealing with something similar right now where my adjudication date keeps fluctuating, and reading everyone s'experiences here makes me feel less crazy about it. Definitely going to try calling ESD directly based on your success. Thanks for taking the time to update us with what you learned!
