EDD Pandemic Assistance Claim Intercepting Current Benefits - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having a major issue with my unemployment claim. My pandemic assistance is messing up my current claim, and my benefits are getting intercepted even after I got a redetermination. Has anyone else dealt with this? It's so frustrating!

Ugh, that sucks! I've been dealing with something similar. Have you tried calling the unemployment office? It's a pain, but sometimes talking to a real person is the only way to sort this stuff out.

I've been trying to call for days, but the lines are always busy. It's driving me crazy! 😫

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold last week.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. They just called me when an agent was ready.

This is a common issue rn. The system is overwhelmed with all the pandemic claims and regular claims getting mixed up. Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep copies of all your correspondence and claim info. 2. File an appeal if you haven't already. Even if you got a redetermination, you might need to appeal again. 3. Contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite these issues. 4. Keep certifying for benefits every week, even if you're not receiving them. 5. Check your online account regularly for any updates or requests for additional info. Hang in there, it's a frustrating process but persistence pays off!

This is solid advice. I'd add: join Facebook groups for your state's unemployment issues. Sometimes you can get insider tips there.

Have you checked if there's an overpayment issue? Sometimes that can cause benefits to be intercepted. Might be worth looking into.

I hadn't thought of that. How would I check for overpayment?

Log into your unemployment account online. There should be a section for overpayments or outstanding issues. If you see anything there, that could be your problem.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue last year. Turned out there was a glitch in their system that was flagging my account incorrectly. Took forever to fix, but eventually got it sorted. Don't give up!
