EDD Payment Delays: Anyone Else Struggling to Reach a Human?

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment payments. Has anyone else been experiencing delays or problems lately? I've been trying to get through to someone on the phone but it's been impossible. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, join the club. šŸ™„ I've been dealing with this nightmare for weeks now. It's like they don't even want us to get our money.

Weeks? Consider yourself lucky. I've been trying to sort out my claim for MONTHS. This system is completely broken.

@profile 3 lol good luck with that. I think they replaced all the humans with robots programmed to say 'We're experiencing high call volumes' on repeat šŸ¤–

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit? $20 seems steep just to make a phone call.

Interesting. How long did you have to wait before they connected you?

@profile 5 I get the skepticism, but it's totally legit. I was desperate and decided to try it. Worked like a charm. @profile 6 It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Has anyone tried contacting their local representative? I've heard that sometimes they can help push things through faster.

Pro tip: try calling right when they open in the morning. I managed to get through after only a 30-minute wait last week. Good luck!

What time do they open? I'm willing to set an alarm if it means I can finally talk to someone!

@profile 9 They open at 8am. Set that alarm and get ready to hit redial like your life depends on it lol

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this mess for the past few months: ā€¢ Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. ā€¢ Keep detailed records of all your attempts to contact them. ā€¢ Double-check that all your information in the online portal is correct and up-to-date. ā€¢ If you're having issues with payments, make sure you're still certifying every two weeks. ā€¢ Consider reaching out to your local assemblymember or state senator for help. ā€¢ Join Facebook groups or other online communities for your state's unemployment issues. Sometimes you can get insider tips. ā€¢ If all else fails, consider filing an appeal. Hang in there, everyone. I know it's frustrating, but don't give up!

Great advice. I'd add: document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. It might come in handy if you need to escalate your case.

Anyone else feel like they're trapped in a kafka-esque nightmare? šŸ¤” I swear, dealing with unemployment is like trying to escape a maze designed by a sadistic clown. šŸ¤”

LOL too real. Sometimes I wonder if this is all just an elaborate social experiment to see how much frustration humans can take before we snap šŸ˜…

Idk if this helps, but I finally got my issue resolved by sending a message through the online portal instead of calling. Took about a week to get a response, but at least I didn't have to deal with the phone system.
