If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more tip - if you're really tight on money, some food banks and churches can help with groceries while you're waiting for that first unemployment payment. No shame in getting help when you need it.

That's really thoughtful advice. Hopefully I won't need it but good to know the resources are there.

211 is a good number to call for local resources too. They can connect you with food assistance, utility help, etc.

Final update from OP - my payment just hit my Wells Fargo account! Filed Sunday evening, got paid Wednesday morning. Thanks everyone for the help and info!

0 coins

Awesome! Mine should be coming soon then, I filed around the same time Sunday.

Glad it worked out! Now you know the pattern for future weeks.

If anyone else is having trouble reaching Washington ESD by phone like I was, I found out about this service called Claimyr that basically calls for you and gets you through to an agent. Saved me hours of frustration when my claim had issues. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo that explains how it works.

That's the second time someone mentioned that service in this thread. Must be pretty helpful for people having phone issues.

0 coins

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first but it actually works. Way better than hitting redial for hours.

0 coins

Bottom line for OP - you almost certainly qualify based on what you described. 8 months of steady work earning $18k total definitely meets Washington ESD requirements. File your claim ASAP and don't stress about it. The system works for situations exactly like yours.

0 coins

Good luck! Come back and update us on how it goes.

0 coins

Will do! Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here.

0 coins

Bottom line: for most people it's going to be around 40-50% of your gross weekly wages, capped at $999 per week maximum. Not enough to live on long-term but helps bridge the gap while job hunting.

0 coins

That's a helpful summary. Hopefully I won't need it but at least now I have realistic expectations.

0 coins

Exactly. It's meant to be temporary assistance, not a replacement for working. The key is to use the time to find a new job as quickly as possible.

0 coins

If you do end up needing to file, make sure you have all your employment history ready. They'll want info about all your employers from the past 18 months, including dates and wages.

0 coins

I should probably gather that info now just in case. Better to be prepared.

0 coins

Smart thinking. Having all your documentation ready makes the application process much smoother.

0 coins

One more thing to consider - if you've been doing any gig work or freelancing during your claim period, make sure you have documentation of that income too. It might affect your new base period calculation.

0 coins

I did some freelance work but reported it all on my weekly claims. Should I gather additional documentation?

0 coins

If you reported it properly on your weekly claims you should be fine. They have record of what you reported.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all this helpful information! I feel much more confident about refiling now. Going to gather my documents this weekend and file early next week.

0 coins

Good luck! And remember if you run into any issues that require talking to Washington ESD, Claimyr is there as an option to avoid the phone system frustrations.

0 coins

Definitely keeping that in mind. Thanks again!

One more thing - if you do get laid off, file your claim immediately. Benefits can be backdated but only for a limited time, and there's usually a waiting week before payments start.

0 coins

Good to know. I assumed you had to wait until your last day of work but sounds like you should file right away.

0 coins

Exactly. The sooner you file, the sooner the process starts. Don't wait thinking you might find another job quickly.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! This thread has been really educational. Hopefully I won't need to use any of this knowledge, but at least now I know what to expect if layoffs do happen.

0 coins

Glad we could help! Better to be informed ahead of time.

0 coins

Hope your job situation works out, but you'll be prepared either way now.
