If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Another thing to check - if you received any severance pay or vacation payout when you were laid off, that might affect when your unemployment benefits start or how they're calculated.

0 coins

I got 2 weeks severance. Does that mean I have to wait 2 weeks before I can collect unemployment?

0 coins

It depends on how the severance was structured. Some severance delays when you can start collecting, others are just added income. You'd need to check with Washington ESD about your specific situation.

Has anyone had success appealing their benefit calculation? Mine seems way too low based on what I was earning but I don't know if it's worth the hassle to appeal.

0 coins

I didn't appeal but I did get mine corrected when I provided additional wage documentation. If you think there's an error it's definitely worth pursuing.

0 coins

Before appealing, I'd suggest calling Washington ESD to understand exactly how they calculated your benefits. That's where Claimyr really helped me - I was able to get a detailed explanation of my calculation and it turned out to be correct.

One more tip - make sure you answer all the questions on your weekly claims honestly. If you worked any hours or earned any money, even just a few dollars, you need to report it. Being dishonest can disqualify you from benefits.

0 coins

What if I do some freelance work while I'm unemployed? Do I need to report that too?

0 coins

Yes, all income needs to be reported. It might reduce your weekly benefit amount but it won't necessarily disqualify you completely.

0 coins

Bottom line - file as soon as possible after your last day of work, have all your information ready, and be prepared for the process to take some time. Washington ESD is dealing with high volume so patience is key.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I'm going to file my claim tonight.

Good luck! Hope your claim gets processed quickly.

Just be strategic about it. Extra holiday hours are fine but don't make it a permanent thing if you want to keep collecting unemployment benefits.

This is why I love these forums - you guys think of stuff the Washington ESD website never mentions!

Good thread, lots of helpful info for new employers. The Washington ESD system can be confusing but it's manageable once you understand the basics. Don't hesitate to reach out for help when you need it - whether through their website, phone support, or services like Claimyr if you can't get through otherwise.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I feel much more prepared to handle this properly now.

The most important thing is just getting started with registration and your first quarterly filing. Once you're in the system, Washington ESD will send you reminders and forms. It becomes routine pretty quickly.

0 coins

That's what I needed to hear. I was making this seem more complicated than it probably is.

0 coins

Exactly. Every employer goes through this learning curve. You'll be fine as long as you stay on top of the deadlines and keep good records.

From what I understand, the two week waiting period includes your waiting week plus one additional week for processing. So if you filed last Tuesday, you should theoretically see something by this coming Tuesday or Wednesday, assuming no complications. But having a backup plan to contact ESD directly if needed is smart.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I feel much better prepared now and know what to expect.

Good luck! Most people do get their payments without major issues, but it's good to know your options if something goes wrong.

Just to add - make sure your job search activities are logged correctly from the start. Washington ESD can audit your job search log at any time and if it's not complete, they can hold up payments even after you've started receiving them.

0 coins

I've been tracking my job searches but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. Is there a specific format?

0 coins

You need 3 job search activities per week minimum. Each entry needs company name, position applied for, date, and method of contact. Keep detailed records!
