If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I had so many questions like this when I started my claim. Couldn't get through to Washington ESD for weeks to get answers. Finally tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned here and actually got to talk to a real person who walked me through everything.

Was it worth it? I'm getting desperate trying to reach someone at Washington ESD.

0 coins

Absolutely. Saved me so much stress and got my questions answered quickly. Way better than playing phone tag for weeks.

Bottom line: unemployment compensation = the money Washington ESD pays you each week when you're unemployed and eligible. All the other terms (UI, unemployment benefits, etc.) mean basically the same thing. Don't overthink it!

0 coins

Thank you! This whole thread has been super helpful. I feel much less confused now.

0 coins

Glad we could help! The terminology really is unnecessarily confusing for new claimants.

Good luck with everything! Remember that getting laid off isn't a reflection on you personally, especially in manufacturing where it's often just economic factors.

0 coins

I appreciate that. It's been pretty stressful but all this information helps a lot.

We've all been there in some form. You'll get through this!

Just wanted to add that if you run into any issues with your claim getting stuck in adjudication or anything like that, there are resources to help. That Claimyr service has been mentioned a few times and seems legit for getting through to ESD when you really need to talk to someone.

0 coins

I'll keep that in mind if I run into problems. Hopefully the process goes smoothly since it was a clear layoff.

0 coins

One more tip - when you file, be very clear about your reason for separation. 'Position eliminated/layoff' is different from 'end of leave' in their system.

0 coins

That's a great point. I'll make sure to emphasize that it was a layoff, not me choosing not to return.

0 coins

Exactly. The wording you use can make a big difference in how quickly your claim gets processed.

Has anyone dealt with the tax implications of UI benefits after maternity leave? I'm wondering if I need to plan differently since I won't have regular payroll taxes taken out.

0 coins

You can elect to have taxes withheld from your UI benefits, or you can pay quarterly estimated taxes. Definitely something to think about for next year's return.

0 coins

Good point, I hadn't thought about that aspect yet. I'll look into the tax withholding options when I file.

0 coins

my weekly benefit is $445 and I was making about $2800 a month. seems like the calculation is pretty consistent around 50% of your previous income

0 coins

That matches what others are saying. Thanks for sharing your numbers, it helps me estimate what I might get.

0 coins

Don't forget that you'll need to actively search for work to keep getting benefits. The job search requirements are pretty strict now.

0 coins

I think it's 3 job search activities per week, but it doesn't have to be just applications. Can include networking, job fairs, interviews, etc.

0 coins

That's correct. You need to complete at least 3 job search activities each week and keep records of what you did.

0 coins

The whole process seems overwhelming at first but it's really not that bad once you get started. The Washington ESD website walks you through everything step by step.

0 coins

That's reassuring. I was worried it would be super complicated.

0 coins

It's designed to be user-friendly for the most part. The hardest part is usually just getting through on the phone if you need help, but the online system works pretty well.

One last tip - register with WorkSource Washington too. It's the state's job search website and using it counts toward your job search requirements. Plus they have good resources for finding work.

I'll definitely check that out. Thanks everyone for all the helpful information!

Good luck with your claim! Feel free to ask if you run into any issues during the process.
