If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - if you're a new employer, your first few Form 940s might be a bit different because Washington ESD assigns new employer rates differently than established businesses with experience ratings.

This is a pretty new business, so that's good to know. I'll make sure they understand how the new employer rates work.

0 coins

New employers in Washington usually get assigned a standard rate until they build up enough experience for an individual rating. Check with Washington ESD for the current new employer rate.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful responses! Sounds like Form 940 is definitely what we need for the federal side. Now we just need to make sure we're staying compliant with Washington ESD requirements too.

And don't hesitate to reach out for help if you get stuck. Whether it's calling Washington ESD directly or using a service like Claimyr to get through, it's better to ask questions than make costly mistakes.

Absolutely. This thread has been incredibly helpful. I feel much more confident about helping my friend navigate all these requirements now.

Just remember that even if you qualify for unemployment, you still need to actively look for work and report your job search activities. Washington ESD takes that requirement seriously.

0 coins

I think it's 3 job search activities per week but check the current requirements when you file your claim.

0 coins

And keep good records of your job search activities. They can audit you at any time and ask for proof.

Best of luck OP! Getting fired is never fun but at least unemployment benefits can help bridge the gap while you find something better. The system isn't perfect but it does work for situations like yours.

Thanks for all the support everyone. Feeling much more confident about applying now. Will update once I hear back from Washington ESD!

Please do update us! Always good to hear success stories to help the next person in your situation.

Just wanted to follow up and say I successfully set up federal tax withholding on my Washington ESD account online. The process was pretty straightforward once I found the right section. Look under 'Payment Information' in your account dashboard.

Awesome, thanks for the update! I'll look for that section when I log in.

Mei Liu

Thank you for posting the exact location! I've been looking all over for where to set this up.

One more thing to consider - if you're planning to return to work soon and will only be on unemployment for a short time, you might not need to worry as much about withholding. But if you're looking at being on benefits for several months like I am, definitely set up that tax withholding.

0 coins

I'm honestly not sure how long I'll be on benefits. Job market is pretty tough right now so I think I'll set up the withholding just to be safe.

0 coins

Better safe than sorry with taxes. I learned that lesson the hard way a few years ago with a different situation.

One more thing - if you end up needing to file a new claim later and had issues with your previous claim, that Claimyr service might be helpful for getting those resolved quickly with Washington ESD.

0 coins

Yeah, dealing with Washington ESD phone system is nightmare fuel. Any service that can help with that is probably worth it.

Update us on what happens when your benefits end. I'm in a similar situation and would like to know how it goes for you.

0 coins

Will do. Hopefully I'll find work before then but if not, I'll let everyone know what the transition is like.

Noah Ali

make sure your address is correct in the system too. friend of mine had payments delayed because his address was wrong

0 coins

Good point, I'll double check that. Though I have direct deposit so address shouldn't matter for the actual payment.

0 coins

Noah Ali

true but sometimes they mail important notices to that address so it's still good to make sure it's right

0 coins

The first payment always takes the longest. After that it should be more predictable timing-wise. Just keep filing your weekly claims on schedule.

0 coins

Will do. Thanks for the reassurance, really needed to hear that.

0 coins

Yeah the first one is nerve-wracking but once it starts it becomes routine.
