The waiting is definitely the hardest part. Try to stay busy with job searching and other activities so you're not constantly checking your account status.
Just to add another data point - mine took exactly 17 days from filing to approval. Straightforward layoff situation, no complications. Keep your chin up, you're probably close!
The good news is that 8 months of steady work should definitely meet Washington's requirements. I've seen people qualify with less work history, as long as they earned enough during their base period.
If you do need to contact Washington ESD for specific questions about your eligibility, I had success using Claimyr to get through to them recently. Their phone system is usually overwhelmed but this service helped me connect with an actual person who could look up my account details.
If you run into any issues reaching Washington ESD after filing, I had good luck with Claimyr too. Sometimes you need to talk to someone about adjudication delays or claim issues and the regular phone lines are impossible. Worth having as a backup option.
Remember that filing is just the beginning. You'll need to keep filing weekly claims and doing work searches to continue receiving benefits. But don't worry about all that right now - just focus on getting that initial application submitted!
Filed my claim 6 months after I lost my job and still got benefits, so it's never too late. But yeah, you lose all those months of payments.
UPDATE: Just filed my claim online and it was actually pretty straightforward. Thanks everyone for pushing me to do it today instead of waiting longer!

If you end up having issues with your benefit calculation or need to speak with Washington ESD about your claim, I highly recommend trying Claimyr. I wasted so much time calling the regular number before someone told me about it. The service actually works and you can see exactly how it works in their demo video.

•A few people have mentioned Claimyr now. Seems like it might be worth knowing about if I run into problems.

•I was skeptical about using any kind of service like that but honestly the Washington ESD phone system is so broken that you need something like Claimyr just to get basic questions answered.

Bottom line - your weekly benefit amount will be somewhere between $295 (minimum) and $999 (maximum) depending on your wage history. Most people fall somewhere in the $350-600 range. You'll know your exact amount once Washington ESD processes your claim and sends you the determination letter.
