If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

my cousin works for esd (not in claims dept tho) and she says theyre SUPER backed up right now because of system updates they did in march. standby stuff is taking longer than normal. she said maybe even 2 weeks for some people :

UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know that my standby extension was finally approved! It took 7 business days total. For anyone else in this situation - I ended up registering on the out-of-work list as a precaution but kept checking my account daily. The approval showed up without any notification email, so definitely keep checking your account regularly. Thanks for all the advice!

Great news! Thanks for updating the thread. This will be helpful for others in the same situation.

glad it worked out!!

Wait till next Monday before freaking out. My last payment took 6 days to hit my account after showing "paid" and ESD wouldn't do anything about it because their system showed it was already paid. The whole system is broken if you ask me. But your money will come... eventually. This state's unemployment system is a joke.

totally agree!! I had to wait 17 WEEKS for my initial claim to be approved last year! then they wonder why people get desperate and panicky about when money will arrive

UPDATE: Money hit my account this morning! Thanks everyone for the reassurance and advice. For anyone with the same question in the future - my timeline was: Sunday (holiday) marked as "paid" in the ESD system → funds appeared in bank account early Thursday morning. So about 3 business days total.

Great news! Thanks for coming back to update us - that helps others who might search for similar issues in the future. Glad it all worked out!

Glad you got through! One other thing to note - make sure you're still meeting the job search requirements while this is being resolved. The current requirement is 3 job search activities per week that you must document in your weekly claim. Missing these can result in disqualification regardless of what's happening with your wage dispute. Good luck!

Definitely doing that! I've been tracking everything in a spreadsheet - applications, interviews, resume submissions, WorkSource workshops, etc. Not taking any chances with my benefits, especially while I'm trying to get them increased.

Just wanted to add some context on why these waivers are taking so long currently. ESD implemented a new case management system in late 2025 that created a backlog of waiver reviews. They've also been dealing with a surge of new overpayment cases due to the automated cross-matching with employer wage reports. The current staff handling waivers is about half what it was two years ago. This isn't to excuse the delays, but to help you understand you're not being singled out - it's a systemic issue affecting thousands of claimants right now. One thing I do recommend is checking that your contact information is up-to-date in the system. Sometimes they've tried to reach people for additional information but had outdated phone numbers or email addresses.

Thank you for that insight. I just double-checked my contact info and everything is current. Do you know if there's a way to check if they've tried to contact me? I haven't received any messages in my eServices inbox, but I'm worried I might have missed something.

Check both your eServices Messages AND your regular email. Sometimes their system sends notices to your registered email rather than the eServices inbox. Also look in your spam/junk folders. Another tip: when you talk to an agent, ask them to check the "contact log" on your account - they can see if any outbound calls or emails were attempted.

UPDATE: I tried calling the collections option this morning right at 8am and actually got through to someone after about 45 minutes! The agent confirmed my waiver is still pending review but added notes to my account about my financial hardship and put a temporary hold on collections for 30 days. She said that should give enough time for the waiver team to review my case. She couldn't guarantee approval but at least I know they haven't lost my paperwork and collections won't start immediately. Thank you all for your helpful advice! I'll update again once I hear the final decision.

That's great news! The 30-day hold is standard, but if you don't hear anything by day 25, call back and ask for another extension. They can usually renew it if your waiver is still under review.

glad u got through! im gonna try that tomorrow morning too

THE UNEMPLOYMENT SYSTEM IS A JOKE!!!! they deny you when you deserve benefits, make you PAY BACK money you needed for SURVIVAL, then years later they're like "oops our bad here's your money" with ZERO explanation!!! how are people supposed to trust anything they say or do??? i bet half the people who deserved this reversal never even got it because they changed addresses or dont check their accounts anymore. sorry for the rant but this makes me SO ANGRY at how they treat people who are just trying to get benefits they EARNED through their work!!

I hear you. It was really stressful when I had to pay that money back. I was already struggling, and then getting hit with an overpayment notice was devastating. I wish they had a better system or at least better communication about what's happening.

Seeing your comments about standby status, I'm confident this is related to the Jefferson settlement. Here's what you should do: 1. Print out the message from your portal (screenshot is fine) 2. Get the determination letter by calling ESD (use the Benefits Accuracy number) 3. Check if there's a breakdown showing the original amount plus interest 4. Keep all documentation indefinitely (seriously, in a safe place) The money is almost certainly legitimately yours based on everything you've shared, but documentation is your best protection. And if your situation is related to the Jefferson settlement, there's an FAQ page on the ESD website specifically about these reinstatements that might answer some of your questions.

Thank you so much for this detailed advice. I've taken screenshots of everything so far. I'll definitely request that determination letter when I call. This has been really helpful - I feel much less worried about using the money now.
